AbstractAbstract
[en] In this paper the environmental impact from Slovenske elektrarne is reviewed. The Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant has obtained as the first plant in the Slovak Republic - the International certificate in environmental management according the norm ISO 14001:1996 for production and supply of electric energy from NPP. The Certification was awarded by the certification company Det Norske Veritas Slovensko according to the Dutch accreditation the Raad voor Accredative. Mochovce NPP has obtained the Certificate after compliance of process requests and it is active for three years. After expiration of this period the certification process must be repeated

AbstractAbstract
[en] Fossil fueled generation of electricity necessary causes the production of CO2 greenhouse gas. Slovenske elektrarne, a. s. (SE) is not the major producer of CO2 mainly due to good balanced generation facilities (hydro 18.6%, fossil 18.5%, nuclear 62.8%). Decommissioning of V-1 is critical for strategic goal of SE to maintain appropriate amount of CO2 production. In the case of the SE the replacement of nuclear generation in V-1 Bohunice would cause around 50% increase of today's CO2 emission. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] n this paper authors deal with the Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 as well as with Kyoto protocol. For the Slovak Republic the Convention on Climate Change took effect in November 1994. For Slovakia arised from Kyoto Protocol to the Convention, that in the period of 2008-2012 the level of emissions cannot exceed the amount from 1990, reduced by 8 per cent (as well as whole Europe). In the next part authors describe mechanisms of flexibility in the frame of Kyoto protocol, principles for realisation of trade with greenhouse carbon dioxide and supported projects. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The objective of this study is to ascertain the actual state of the indicators of health in individual villages within the area under investigation, to ascertain the trend of the development of indicators in the area surrounding the nuclear power plant included in the study, to find whether the occurrence of an indicator is accidental or whether it is determined in the village, make a comparison with another area and with the situation in the Slovak Republic as a whole and, consequently, to determine possible influence of the Power Plant on the indicator's value. It is concluded, that objective and comprehensive evaluation of the health of the population of Slovakia is possible. Enough solid and reliable proofs are available to justify the conclusion that, regardless of the length of the power plants' operation, no unfavourable impacts on human health on their territory have been detected even by the most sophisticated research carried out by a large, multidisciplinary team of researchers from various fields of science
