AbstractAbstract
[en] Step-by-step excitation of He atoms by an electron impact of metastable states at levels 31, 3p, 31D, 43D is investigated. An experiment is carried out by the optical method in a gaseous cell with an electron beam. Metastable atoms are formed in a separate gas-discharge tube and they enter through the passage the region of interaction with the beam electrons. Absolute values of cross sections and functions of excitation of the levels known and four spectral lines are measured. Calculation according some classical and semiempirical formulae and at the Born approximation is carried out. Data obtained are compared with experiment

AbstractAbstract
[en] Stepped ionization with excitation (SIE) in neon in case of electron collision with metastable 3s-atoms of NeI has been studied. The investigation of SIE processes was carried out by the optical method of beam emission in a gas cell with an electron beam. Cross section of ion stepped excitation has been measured for the first time. Like stepped excitation of atom levels it is characterized by a large value of cross section, for 2P03/2 level it is 2.5x10-15cm2

AbstractAbstract
[en] Stepwise excitation of He atoms by electron impact from metastable states to the 31,3P, 31D, and 43D levels has been studied. The experiment was carried out by means of an optical method in a gas cell with an electron beam. Metastable atoms were formed in a separate gas-discharge tube, and they entered by transition into the region of interaction with the beam electrons. The absolute values of the cross sections and the excitation functions of the levels and of four spectral lines emitted from them have been measured. A calculation using several classical and semiempirical formulas and the Born approximation is made. The data obtained are compared with experiment

AbstractAbstract
[en] Excitation of argon atoms by electron collisions from metastable (MS) to high-lying states of inert gases (the so-called step-by-step excitation) is investigated. Formation of MS atoms m and their further step-by-step excitation up to k level is carried out by an electron beam with energy from 1 up to 40 eV. Time distribution of forming metastable and step-by-step electron collisions is used. The method used permits to measure the functions of step-by-step excitation and the absolute values of cross sections. Absolute values of cross-sections and functions of step-by-step excitation of some lines and argon levels are obtained

AbstractAbstract
[en] X-ray holography scheme with reference scatterer consisting of heavy atom as reference center and its link to an object consisting of several light atoms and using controlled variation of the alignment is represented. The scheme can reproduce an object in three dimensions with atomic resolution. The distorting factors of reconstruction are considered. - Highlights: • X-ray holography scheme with a reference wave formed by atomic scatterer. • 3D object reconstruction with atomic resolution from the set of holograms. • Simple formula for the distorting factor in reconstruction.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The paper discusses application of the phase-shift method to the study of optically absorbing metastable states. It is shown that the method makes it possible to determine the lifetimes and concentrations of these states. The method is used to determine the lifetimes of the 3P2 and 3P0 levels of the neon atom in an electron gun. This made it possible to convert the previously obtained electron-excitation cross sections of these levels to an absolute measure
