AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper is devoted to study the characteristic of plasma pinch in Malaysian Nuclear Agency Plasma Focus plasma focus device (MNA-PF) correlated with the various charging voltage with 2 mbar argon gas pressure given. The capacitor charging voltage range varies from 11.5 kV up to 13 kV. Along this range there will be the most optimum operating capacitor voltage for the MNA-PF device. At this optimum range the highest intensity of x-ray will be produced. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Full-text: Developing technologies for focus plasma research technology is very challenging among researchers. Malaysian Nuclear Agency also involved in plasma focus research with Mather-type geometry. A background of the plasma focus system is highlighted. An analysis of the current state of the plasma focus research is presented. Some new opportunities for the use of plasma focus in studies are also discussed. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A new extended experimental chamber is made special for the diversity of experiments on the focus plasma device. The new experimental extended chamber has been designed and operated at 11.0 kV, 13.0 kV and 13.5 kV to study the appropriate voltage supply to produce a good focus and suitable for ion beam production. The initial test was done by argon as a filling gas. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A Faraday cup has been developed for measuring the pulsed ion beam of a low-energy plasma focus device. The faraday cup operating in biased ion collector mode has a nanosecond response and these have been used to determine the energy spectrum and flux of ion beam emerging out of the pinched plasma column. Faraday cup consists of conductive material with a shape like a cup to capture ion particles in a vacuum. The hitting of ions on the metal cup would generate a current, which can be used to determine the number of ions. Therefore, this paper describes specifically the design, fabrication process, our findings, and all related works for the faraday cup based on our Malaysian Nuclear Agency Plasma Focus Device (MNA-PF). [en] Full-text: This paper describes an experimental basis for neutron radiography in Malaysian Nuclear Plasma Focus. The experimental basis of neutron radiography diagnostics used in this study are neutron radiography film and modern CCD-based digital camera. The present result shows a comparative analysis of neutron emission and its development both as a diagnostics imaging method for the plasma itself. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Particle and Heavy Ion Transport Code System (PHITS) is a Monte Carlo simulation program used for transport and collision of nearly all particles over wide energy range. One of its useful features for accelerator facility is the calculation of electron trajectories. This is important in order to design and optimize electron beam irradiation system under atmospheric conditions. This paper describes the simulation for the electron from vacuum through titanium foil into air and various targets inside the low electron beam accelerator in Malaysian Nuclear Agency (MNA). The simulation consists of the modeling inside electron beam gun and through the titanium foil and onto a chosen target. The energy deposition and dose distribution were obtained and discussed. AbstractAbstract
[en] PHITS is one of the Monte Carlo particle transport simulation code. It is being used in many studies in the field of accelerator technology, radiotherapy, space radiation, etc. This paper explains the simulation using PHITS for proton energies between 1 MeV and 6 MeV to determine the value of proton range in a 2 cm thick copper target material. The simulation value is compared to the existing value from NCRP 51. The similarities and the differences of these two values are also discussed. (author)
