AbstractAbstract
[en] The behavior of solid conduction cooling in an apoxy impregnated superconducting magnet with a forced convection helium channel is investigated. The effect of the weak thermal coupling between the coil and the cooling helium has been clarified. The test coil is described and a cross section of the superconducting winding is illustrated. The experimental results include an itemization of the conductor specifications and coil parameters. Computer simulation is described, including graphs of the temperature and pressure response following the quench, as well as the radical propagation velocity of normal zone. Calculated results show an analytical model of thermal flow and computer plots of temperature profiles. Also from the computer is a graphic simulation of stability limit. The model was sucessfully operated and the computer simulation indicates that the thermally weak coupling between coil and cooling has features which are given by way of conclusion
