AbstractAbstract
[en] The technique for determining the X-ray luminescence energy yield of powdery phosphors has been considered. The luminescence yield of 10 most important types of crystal phosphors is measured; ZnS-Ag(P - 450),Znsub(0.65)Cdsub(0.35)S-Ag(P - 540),Znsub(0.68)Cdsub(0.32)S-Ag(P - 530),CaWO4(P - 420 M),BaSO4-Pb(P - 355),Srsub(0.9)Basub(0.1)SO4-Eu,Ba3(PO4)2-Eu(P - 415),Y2O2S-Tb,La2O2S-Tb,Gd2O2S-Tb and CsI-Tl. The dependence of the specific energy luminosity on the effective energy of X-radiation quanta is determined. Some problems of the luminophor structure effect upon the efficiency of the absorbed energy transfer to luminescence centres are discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] It is found that the luminescence output of BaFCl-Sm2+-phosphor exceeds considerably BaF2-Sm2+- and BaCl2-Sm2+-phosphors when excited by the X-ray and VUV radiation. The addition of BaF2 excess to BaFCl-Sm2+ results in the decrease of the X-ray luminescence intensity, increase of afterglow and the arise of the high-temperature peak (80-100 deg C) of thermoluminescence; these phenomena are expressed more distinctly in the comparison with BaF2-BaCl2-Eu2+-phosphors. The sensitivity of Sm2+-doped phosphors to oxidation-reduction properties of atmosphere is also higher. Specific features revealed at a range from 4 to 30 eV in excitation spectra are explained by the formation of edge Γ-excitons, core excitons and plasmons

AbstractAbstract
[en] The influence of the composition of BaF2-BaCl2 and SrF2-SrCl2 systems on the intensity of X-ray liminescence, storaged lightsum, thermoluminescence, emission, excitation and infrared-light stimUlation spectra has been investigated. It has been shown that by this means the formation of the solid solution which is undetectable by means of X-ray phase analysis can be detected. The excitation and thermoluminescence spectra of undoped phosphors are the most sensitive characteristics in this respect. There are some indications to the BaFCl ability to dissolve in BaF2 and BaCl2 too form the solid solutions with them near the fluorochloride composition. The limited mutual solubility has also been detected in the SrECl-SrF2-system. It has been established that BaFCl-Eu phosphor with optimum characteristics must be prepared in the conditions excluding BaF2-phase formation

AbstractAbstract
[en] The next types of the foreign medical radiographic films are investigated: X-omat K (Kodak), CPBU new (Agfa), XBM (Retina), AX (Konica), XS-1 (Foton), Medix MA (Forma) and Reneks (ZAO Reneks). Much attention is given to sensitivity and middle gradient of the films indicating radiation dose of patients and degree of contrast respectively. The ability of use of photo laboratory lamps exposure when operating with these films is checked. Besides that, approximately quantitative of silver in the films is analyzed. All investigated films demonstrated satisfactory results when automatic photo processing. Sensitivity of all films is satisfactory when handling photo processing, whereas the problems occur only because of low indexes of middle gradient. The worst results are obtained for AX film (Konica) when handling photo processing, regardless of the type of the developer

Исследованы следующие типы медицинских радиографических пленок: X-omat K (Kodak), CPBU new (Agfa), XBM (Retina), AX (Konica), XS-1 (Foton), Medix MA (Forma) и Ренекс (ЗАО Ренекс).

AbstractAbstract
[en] The main luminescent properties of europium-doped BaFBr storage phosphors like steady state X-ray luminescence, phosphorescence and thermally (TSL) and optically stimulated luminescence (PSL) depend strongly on the Eu content, the real phosphor composition and the phosphor preparation conditions used. This is shown in the present paper. The results obtained are interpreted in connection with the relevant luminescence models discussed in the literature. (author)
