AbstractAbstract
[en] The legal infrastructure in Turkey for the disposal of low-level radioactive wastes covers the liquid, solid and gaseous wastes. Waste tank systems are used to collect and store the low level radioactive wastes and as a part of low-level radioactive effluent discharge policy, these systems are effectively used in Turkey especially for the disposal of biomedical radioactive wastes. The decayed waste is then discharged into sewage system regarding to the discharge limit. Dose assessment was also completed and the annual effective dose that would be received by the workers of the Waste Treatment Facility was calculated and the results are presented. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The legal infrastructure in Turkey for the management of low-level radioactive waste covers the liquid, solid and gaseous wastes. Management of these radioactive wastes is briefly described in this paper. Moreover, delay and decay tank systems that are used to collect and store the low level radioactive wastes as a part of low-level radioactive effluent discharge policy are introduced. (author)
