AbstractAbstract
[en] The feasibility of a small reactor unit installed on a floating platform implies to study specific issues mixing safety and security concepts. This article describes the dynamic protection of the floating power unit (FPU) in case of external dynamic impacts either natural like the impact of sea waves or man-caused like the collision with another ship. The validation of the reactor plant dynamic protection has been assessed by calculational and experimental methods for individual pieces of the reactor plant equipment, and by numerical simulation for the entire plant. The results show that under external impacts, the reactor plant equipment ensures a possibility of the reactor plant shutdown and cooldown without any radiation consequences for the environment. The possibility of FPU being towed away in case of predictable events creates an advantage in dynamic protection of equipment compared to terrestrial plants
