AbstractAbstract
[en] B_4C composites containing 1–4 vol.% graphene nanoplatelet (GNP) were fabricated aiming at obtaining electrically conductive B_4C composites with high toughness. The electrical conductivity of B_4C composite was enhanced remarkably with the addition of only 2 vol.% GNPs. Besides, all the GNP/B_4C composites maintained high Vickers hardness. The fracture toughness kept increasing with the increase of GNPs volume fraction and a high value of 5.26 MPa·m"1"/"2 was obtained in GNP/B_4C composite with 4 vol.% GNPs. The main toughening mechanisms include GNPs pull-out, crack deflection and crack bridging.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Highlights: • The catalyst is hydrophobic, it will not be poisoned by steam in room air at room temperature which is better than Pt-Al_2O_3. • At room temperature, the conversion of low concentration of H2 and tritium gas in room air over the catalyst is high. • The air resistance of catalyst is much lower than graininess Pt-Al_2O_3. • It is inorganic and will not burn. - Abstract: To prepare a catalyst for the detritiation of waste gases at high flow rates, a heat-resistant hydrophobic zeolitic molecular sieve coating was synthesized on the surface of alveolate cordierite by hydrothermal processing. The alveolate hydrophobic catalyst prepared from the support was essentially waterproof and not easily poisoned by moisture. At room temperature, the conversion of low concentrations of H_2 in humid air over the catalyst was higher than 95% at different space velocities (0–16,000 h"−"1) and different relative humidities. The reaction rate constant of the oxidation of tritium over alveolate hydrophobic catalyst is 0.182 s"−"1 at 293.3 K–293.7 K and 59%–60% RH, it is much higher than the catalyst of reference honeycomb catalyst.

[en] The investigation state on the presence and evolution of 3He in metal tritide, the possible approach to slow down the release of 3He from tritides and the effect of helium aging on the metal tritides were reviewed in the present paper. The comparison of 3He aging behaviors of several metal tritides was carried out, and the development trend of the evolution of helium in metal tritides was also reviewed. It was also summarized briefly the results of our group in the development of helium effects in metal tritides. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The amount of tritium retained in vanadium bed was measured by methods of direct measurement, isotope-exchange and dissolution. The standard deviations of three methods were separately analysed for the present experimental conditions. The results show that the percentage of tritium residual in the vanadium bed is 4.40%, and the standard deviation of PVT measurement method is less than 0.95%, when the pressure is between 1500 Pa and 133332 Pa. The average efficiency of isotope-exchange is 37.18% after isotope are exchanged time after time. Its standard deviation is 7.35%. Dissolution method can measure tritium in the V-bed completely, and its standard deviation is 6.49%. (authors)

[en] The development of Ti2Ni-type oxygen-stabilized intermetallic phases as hydrogen storage alloys was reviewed in present paper. The stabilization of oxygen-stabilized intermetallic phases and their hydride, the relationship among component, structure and the hydrogen absorption properties of Ti2Ni-type oxygen-stabilized intermetallic phase were summarized and discussed. The developing trend of oxygen-stabilized intermetallic compounds was also reviewed. Besides, our works were reported in the paper about the Zr3V3Ox intermetallic hydride. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Based on the current ITER design, there will be 12% inert gases in the off-gases from the torus collected in the cryopumps. The concentration polarization existing in the Pd membrane separation processes could seriously affect the processes. In this work, the concentration polarization phenomenon in a porous ceramic supported Pd-based membrane for the separation of H2/He has been studied. A polarization coefficient was defined to describe the extent of the concentration polarization phenomenon, the effect of operation parameters such as operation pressure, upstream He molar fraction, and feed gas flow rate on the coefficient were investigated. The results show that the degree of inhibition by concentration polarization in hydrogen permeation decreases with increasing feed gas flow rate, whereas increases with rising He molar fraction and upstream total pressure. AbstractAbstract
[en] The nanocrystalline Mg2Ni materials were prepared by mechanical alloying. The cyclic voltametry results indicated that the potential of oxidation peak was shift as the scan rate increased and the absorption property of Mg2Ni prepared by mechanical alloying was increased even at ambient temperature. The absorption and desorption of hydrogen in Mg2Ni alloy were remarkably accelerated with the rising temperature. Small angel X-ray scattering results indicated that the Mg2Ni powder have 1-5 nm and 5-10 nm particle size distribution, which increased the acting sites of hydrogen absorption/desorption reaction and decreased the diffusion path of hydrogen desorption. It was induced to the enhanced performance of Mg2Ni nanocrystalline powder. The cycle life investigated results indicated that the activation property of Mg2Ni nanocrystal-line hydrogen storage alloy electrode was excellent, the capacitance maintenance ration was 66% after 200 cycles. The coating of epoxy resin on one side of the electrode had no effect on the activation property and the capacitance maintenance ration was better than the uncoating one. But the anode peak current value and the cathodic peak current value were decreased remarkably which indicated that the hydrogen absorption/desorption rate and the charge/discharge degree had decreased. AbstractAbstract
[en] Tritium is the fuel of fusion reactor, and the issue about tritium is one of the most critical problems to be solved in fusion energy. It's very important to solve problems about both science and technology in tritium chemistry to support the development of tritium facility. Besides, tritium measurement is the main way to obtain the information about tritium in the facility. In this article, we reviewed the progress about tritium chemistry and tritium analysis developed recent years, and also give a prospect about it. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The oxygen-stabilized η-phase Zr3V3O was prepared by arc-melting the appropriate quantities of Zr metal, V metal, and V2O5 powder in an argon atmosphere. The crystal structure of intermetallic Zr3V3O was simulated by Material Studio and the phase structural characteristics of the alloy and its hydride were determined by X-ray powder diffraction. Experimental results show the cast and the hydride contain some amount of other phases as well as η-phase

AbstractAbstract
[en] The cryogenic deuterium-tritium targets are very important to laser inertial confinement fusion, and mainly adopt plastics capsule, Be shell, foam shell, etc. According to the performance of the shell material, several different techniques are taken to fabricate cryogenic deuterium-tritium targets. For plastics capsule, 'high pressure fill deuterium-tritium, then freeze to low temperature' or 'fill-tube fill deuterium-tritium' method is applied. For Be shell, 'condensation deuterium-tritium at low-pressure, low temperature' or 'diffuse-bonding two Be hemisphere shells at high temperature, high pressure' means is adopted. For foam shell, the way of 'Absorbtion of deuterium-tritium liquid' is used. The development and the tendency of above technique and methods are summarized. (authors)
