AbstractAbstract
[en] Three new CO_2-philic bis(2-ethoxyethyl) ethanedioate derivatives, bis(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl) ethanedioate (compound 1), bis(2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethyl) ethanedioate (compound 2), and bis(2-(2-butoxyethoxy)ethyl) ethanedioate (compound 3), were designed and synthesized and their solubilities in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO_2) were then measured at different temperatures (313, 323, 333) K over the pressure range (8.9 to 13.9) MPa. The measured solubility data were correlated with five different theoretical semi-empirical models (Chrastil, kJ, SS, MST, JCF) and satisfactory agreements were obtained. The JCF model provided the best fit and the lowest average absolute relative deviation (AARD) varied from (3.58 to 6.80)%. Furthermore, the partial molar volumes of three compounds in the supercritical phase were also calculated according to the Kumar and Johnston theory, and the values were between −(19105 and 3510) cm"3 · mol"−"1

AbstractAbstract
[en] The magnetic rotational bands based on the configuration πh11/22 direct x νh11/2-2 in 142Gd are investigated with the newly developed tilted axis cranking relativistic mean field (RMF) theory with and without nuclear current. The effect of the nuclear current is discussed by comparing the total Routhians, single particle levels, electromagnetic transition probabilities B(M1) and B(E2) in self-consistent tilted axis cranking RMF calculation with those obtained without the nuclear current. The nuclear currents are found to play an important role in the magnetic rotation of nuclei. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The grafting of methyl methacrylate (MMA) onto polybutadiene rubber latex by the direct radiation method was carried out. The effects of monomer concentration, absorbed dose and dose rate of gamma rays on the grafting yield were investigated. The graft copolymers were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), FTIR spectroscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry. TEM photographs revealed that the core-shell structures of latex particles are formed at low MMA content, and with the increasing of MMA content, the semi-IPN-like structure with core-shell could be developed due to the high gel fraction of polybutadiene (PBD) seed particles. In addition, infrared analysis confirmed that MMA could be grafted onto PBD molecular chains effectively under appropriate irradiation conditions. The interfacial adhesion between PBD rubber (core) and PMMA (shell) phases could be enhanced with the increase of MMA concentration

AbstractAbstract
[en] The slight radiation-crosslinked CMC-Na as a substitute for hydrogel was prepared by gamma irradiation below gelation dose. The effects of various parameters such as absorbed dose, concentration of inorganic salts, pH, swelling temperature and swelling time on the swelling ratio in water were investigated in detail. This kind of slight crosslinked CMC-Na showed good water absorption below 60 deg. C, whereas, it became solution when heated up to 70 deg. C. Such CMC-Na gel is different from the true gel that is insoluble in boiled water; nevertheless, it can be used as hydrogel at room temperature and produced at low dose. Due to its low cost, it might be useful for its application in agriculture or others

[en] Highlights: • An air-source heat pump water heater model was developed and validated. • System performance with EEV, capillary tube or short tube orifice were compared. • Short tube orifice is more suitable for heat pump water heater than capillary tube. - Abstract: Air source heat pump water heater (ASHPWH) is designed to work under wide operating conditions. Therefore, both the system and components require higher reliability and stability than ordinary heat pump air-conditioning systems. In this paper, a quasi-steady-state system model of ASHPWH using electronic expansion valve (EEV), capillary tube or short tube orifice as expansion device is developed and validated by a prototype using R134a and scroll compressor, by which the system performance is evaluated and compared at varying water temperature and different ambient temperature. Flow characteristics of those three expansion devices in ASHPWH are comparatively analyzed. Results show that the EEV throttling system performs best. Compared with capillary tube, flow characteristics of short tube orifice are closer to that of EEV and therefore more suitable for ASHPWH. Reliability concern of liquid carryover to the compressor in the system using short tube orifice is investigated as well. Higher superheat or less system refrigerant charge could help mitigate the risk.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Based on the triaxial particle-rotor model (PRM), the chiral doublet bands with symmetric particle-hole configurations πg9/2 direct x νg9/2-1, πh11/2 direct x νh11/2-1 and asymmetric configurations πg9/2-1 direct x νh11/2, πh11/2-1 direct x νi13/2 have been investigated, including their rotation spectra, the relations between spin and rotational frequency, and the reduced B (E2), B(M1) transition probabilities. These configurations correspond to regions A∼100, A∼130 and A∼170 in nuclear chart respectively. It is observed that the larger angular momentum provided by the valence nucleons, the higher the spin corresponding to the appearance of the chiral doublet bands, and the broader their spin interval. The chiral bands based on asymmetric configurations exhibit quite similar properties as those on symmetric ones, and can be discovered in future in-beam γ experiments

[en] The possible chiral doublet structures in 104Rh with the asymmetric configuration πg9/2-1 direct x νh11/2 have been studied in the triaxial particle-rotor model. The spectra, the I-ω relations and the transition probabilities support the existence of the chiral bands in this nucleus. The γ-deformation interval -35 degree≤γ≤-25 degree for appearance of chiral doublets in 104Rh is given. With appropriate moment of inertia and the configuration πg9/2-1 direct x νh11/2, the experimental spectra in 104Rh, 106Rh, 108Rh, 110Ag have been well reproduced by the yrast bands of the triaxial particle-rotor-model calculation

AbstractAbstract
[en] Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) is a kind of degraded polymer under γ-irradiation. However, in this work, it has been found that CMC crosslinks partially to form hydrogel by radiation technique at more than 20% CMC aqueous solution. The gel fraction increases with the dose. The crosslinking reaction of CMC is promoted in the presence of N2 or N2O due to the increase of free radicals on CMC backbone, but gel fraction of CMC hydrogel is not high (<40%). Some important values related to this kind of new CMC hydrogel synthesized under different conditions, such as radiation yield of crosslinking G(x), gelation dose Rg, number average molecular weight of network Mc were calculated according to the Charlesby-Pinner equation. The results indicated that although crosslinked CMC hydrogel could be prepared by radiation method, the rate of radiation degradation of CMC was faster than that of radiation crosslinking due to the character of CMC itself. Swelling dynamics of CMC hydrogel and its swelling behavior at different conditions, such as acidic, basic, inorganic salt as well as temperature were also investigated. Strong acidity, strong basicity, small amount of inorganic salts and lower temperature can reduce swelling ratio

[en] The function of modern new nuclear instrument is very much. And the information degree is high requested. Through close matching for host computer and client computer, the data processing function can be carried out. This article puts forward a few of projects for the client computer of general nuclear instrument. The function and features of several common client computers, such as FPGA, ARM and DSP, are analyzed and compared. The applied scope is discussed also. At the same time, using a practical design as an example, the selection ideas of client computer are described. This article can be used for reference for the hardware design of data acquisition processing unit in nuclear instrument. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Two ethylene-octene copolymers (POE) were irradiated with 60Co gamma radiation and influence of irradiation atmosphere, absorbed dose and heat treatment of samples on the crosslinking were studied. Thermal properties and crystalline morphology of non-irradiated and irradiated POE were determined by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXS), respectively. The Charlesby-Pinner equation was used to describe the relationship between absorbed dose and sol fraction. The gel fraction of irradiated POE was lower and decreased with the increase of octene content when irradiated in oxygen, compared to irradiation in nitrogen atmosphere. The gel fraction increased significantly with the increasing of absorbed dose for the two copolymers. Heat treatment of samples prohibited the crosslinking of irradiated POE. The DSC results indicated that a subtle change of thermal properties of POE was observed before and after gamma irradiation at low dose. No change was found from the WAXS spectra of non-irradiated and irradiated POE. For heat-treating samples, the Charlesby-Pinner equation can not fit perfectly with the relationship between the sol fraction and absorbed dose, but it fits well with the crosslinking reaction of POE pellets
