[en] Results of experimental investigations into effect of metallic melts, used as lubricant-cooling media in drilling high strength steels 40Kh, 5KhNM, 30KhGSN2A, 33Kh3SNMVFA, 000Kh12N9D2MT and 50KF alloy are presented. It is shown that simplification and acceleration of drilling in a number of cases is clearly expressed (steels 40Kh, 33Kh3SNMVFA, 000Kh12N9D2MT). Other cases do not reveal great reduction of drilling strength parameters (steels 30KhGSN2A and 5KhNM, 50KF alloy). However, chip dispersion observed in all materials under investigation, permits to judge of the nature of metal interaction with liquid metallic medium: metallic melt, introduced into drilling zone changes mechanical properties of treated steels, bringing about their brittleness in the surface layer

[en] Outflow of energetical solar particles into the interplanetary space is considered. It is noted that even from power chromospheric flares (ball >= 2B), only in 40% of cases there are considerable flows of particles in the interplanetary space. A statistical dependence has been found between the sign of the longitudinal component of the photospheric magnetic field and the magnitude of the flow of energetic particles in the interplanetary medium. If the Hsub(α) flare is observed in the region of positive sign of the magnetic field, then with an approximately 80% probability strong flows of particles will by found in the interplanetary medium (an increase by a factor of 100-1000). If the flare is observed in the region of negative magnetic field, then with an 86% probability there will be practically no particles (an increase not exceeding a factor of two)

[en] A study was made of the survival curves of E. coli B(fil⁺/lon^-) exposed to far UV-light (lambda=254 nm) plated immediately after liquid holding recovery and after photoreacfivation and incubated overnight at 37 deg and 42 deg. It was shown that the survival rate was always higher at 42 deg C irrespective of the modification technique applied. Since the temperature-induced modification was significant after complete elimination of pyrimidine dimers (PD) a conclUsion was made that UV-light, in addition to PD, induced ust one more type of damages modified by temperature
