AbstractAbstract
[en] Systematic study of concentration dependences of electric conductivity of glasses of 0.57ZrF4-(0.34-x)·BaF2-0.05LaF3-0.04AlF3-xMenFn (Me=Li, Na, Rb, Cs) systems is carried out. Extremums on Eσ=f([Me]) and lgσ=f([Me]) dependences with lithium ion concentrations of ∼5.7·10-3g-ion/cm3 and sodium -∼9.7·10-3g-ion/cm3 are detected. On the basis of structural-chemical representations it is shown that anion conductivity prevails in the small concentration range of Li+ and Na+ ions, and in the high concentration range -cation conductivity

AbstractAbstract
[en] Studies of the last 15 years on using nuclear microanalysis in determining elementary composition (from H to Pb) and structure of glass near the surface layers are reviewed. Necessity of nondestructive analysis of glass material surface at different stages of technological processes is noted in connection with increased role of glass as structural material. In particular, possibilities of studying processes of interaction of water and aqueous solutions with glass surface, ion implantation into glasses, diffusion of implanted ions, processes in glass fine near the surface layers for radioactive waste disposal etc. using nuclear methods of microanalysis (method of Rutherford backscattering, methods of nuclear reactions...) as well combination of the latter with non-nuclear ones are considered

AbstractAbstract
[en] The charge state of centers stipulating bands of additional absorption (AA) in γ-irradiated silicate glasses is determined. The absorption cross sections and absolute concentration of these centers are also determined. All measurements were carried out with specially synthesized high purity glasses with the composition (mass. %): 22N2O, 3CaO, 75SiO2 with the Fe3+ content varying from 5x10-5 up to 8.4x10-3 mass. %. It is shown that following radiation colouring of sodium-calcium-silicate high purity glasses synthesized in neutral and oxidizing media four bands occur in the AA spectrum. The bands with 2.0, 2.8 and 4.1 eV maxima are of a hole character, and the band with 5.2 eV maximum is of an electron one

AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect of γ radiation (using 105-107 Co60 R doses) on spectral characteristics of fluorozirconate glasses of ZrF4-BaF2-LaF3-AlF3-MenFn systems, where M=Li, Na, Cs is studied. The analysis of the spectra of additional absorption (AA) of the irradiated glassed has revealed the existence of two groups of AA bands. The first group in volves 2.7 and 5.8 eV bands, which quickly reach the intensity saturation and rapidly fade after irradiation ceasing. The second group bands (4.15-4.25 eV) are connected with F2- and F0 defect formation, which concentrations reflect the strength of fluorine fixing in the glass structure

[en] Analysis of superfine structure of 125Te, manifested in EPR spectra of irradiated alkaline-tellurite glasses enriched by 125Te isotope was conducted. It is shown that two types of RPC with the structure of trigonal pyramide and trigonal bipyramide are observed in irradiated telluride glasses

AbstractAbstract
[en] The glasses of 22Na2O, 3CaO, 75SiO2 composition (mass.%) with variable content of specially introduced iron- from 5x10-5 to 3.5x10-1 mass.% are studied. To accumulate color centres the glasses are subjected to 60Co source gamma radiation (doses from 105 to 108 R). A new absorption band of color radiation centres with the maximum at 3.7 eV and the width at 0.8 eV semiheight is found in sodium silicate glasses. Its contribution in radiation stimulated absorption in the 3.7 eV range in high purity glasses is about 20%: This absorption band belongs to a new type of proper electron color centres. The excitation of these centres by optic radiation brings about their ionization. This, to a great extent, determines the course of recombination processes in glasses and the nature of changes in the absorption spectra of radiation color centres of under the effect of optic radiation
