AbstractAbstract
[en] This thesis presents the study of a large solid angle π0 detector, designed primarily for a charge-symmetry testing experiment (dd→απ0). It is a cylindrical multishell Cerenkov counter. In a first part, we review the experimental and theoretical situation of the studies about charge symmetry; past and experiments are listed, in connection with their theoretical interpretation. In a second part, we present first the principle and general design of the detector; after that, we reckon the performances of the various versions that are considered using computer-simulations. The results of tests with an electron beam is then compared with the simulations in order to assess their reliability. Finally, the arguments favouring the final choice are explained and some future experiments described

AbstractAbstract
[en] The photoproton knockout reaction on /sup 16/O leaving /sup 15/N in low-lying bound states has been observed over the photon energy range from 196 to 361 MeV. The angular distribution for the reaction populating the ground state of /sup 15/N develops sharp structure as the photon energy is increased but that for population of the excited states is smooth. The results are not explained by existing theoretical models

AbstractAbstract
[en] Analyzing powers for the exclusive pion production reaction p vector+d→3He+π0 have been measured at a proton beam energy of 800 MeV. The forward-angle results are in good accord with a microscopic calculation. The analyzing power is determined primarily by the Δ(1232) diagrams at this energy. Possible explanations for the large-angle discrepancies are discussed. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The production of π0 and ν0 mesons in the reactions pd -> π0tau and pd -> μ0tau has been studied at very backward angles for kinetic proton energies Tsub(p) ranging from 0.92 to 2.6 GeV. The excitation functions at thetasub(π)=thetasub(μ)=1800 displays large structures which might be related to baryonic (Δ and Nsup(*)) excitations in the intermediate state. (orig.)
