AbstractAbstract
[en] The most frequently used geochronological methods, ie., the radiocarbon, tritium, rubidium-strontium, lead, and potassium-argon methods are based on the solution of a differential equations system. The accuracy of geological object dating depends on the accuracy of decay constants used. The values are given of constants recommended for use by all geochronological laboratories by the XXVth International Geological Congress. The adoption of unified decay constants eliminates the variation of results obtained using the same experimental data and allows correlating geochronological values obtained by different laboratories all over the world. [en] The program and methodology are described of the preparation, processing and evaluation of descriptive and analytical data obtained from geochemical samples. Gamma spectrometric data are obtained using a 1024-channel analyzer or a single-channel amplitude analyzer. A program file was compiled in FORTRAN IV (for IBM 370) and BASIC (for HP 9830 A) for data evaluation. A standard system was developed for sample identification and description and for data recording. Data are entered on punched cards and filed in a data bank in form of geochemical data matrices. A special program called TEDIST was compiled for processing specific geochemical files. It is designed for testing the adopted model of the normal or lognormal distribution of the individual files of geochemical data matrices containing 6 studied data files, the calculation of basic characteristics for each file, and the calculation of correlation between files. The system is used for the investigation of the geochemistry of natural radionuclides contained in trace amounts in the rocks of the selected parts of the Bohemian Massif. (B.S.)
