AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect is considered of halogen compounds of alkali metals, of LiOH, NaOH, KOH, acids HCl, HNO3, H2SO4 and of a number of salts with a single multi-atom ion HN4Cl, NaCH3COO, NaNO3, KNO3, NaNO2, KNO2, NaClO3, NaClO4, NaBrO3, MgSO4, ZnSO4, CuSO4, AgNO3 upon the variation in the amount of heat Q'' transferred in 1 second at a temperature gradient of 1 degree (cm through a flat layer of aqueous and formamide solutions with a constant total number of molecules of the solvent and of ions equal to the Avogadro number at a constant number of particles in the direction of the heat flux (107). The substitution of molecules of solvent by ions generally reduces the magnitude Q''. Of a major importance is the difference between the number of electrons in the cation and valence shells of atoms of molecules of the solvent (Δ K+) and a similar difference for anions (ΔA-). The magnitudes Q'' of solutions of equal concentrations depend linearly on the sum of the main values (ΔK++ΔA-), the filling of the s-, p- and d- shells of ions of halogens and alkali metals causes a practically constant variation of Q''. The same kind of relationship holds also for infinitely dilute solutions and is satisfactorily met for many electrolytes with multi-charge and multi-atom ions

AbstractAbstract
[en] The heat conduction coefficients K of dimethylsulfoxyde solutions of NaI, KI, RbI and CsI were determined over a wide range of concentrations at 25 deg C by the relative plane-layer method. All the K were obtained as the average result of six measurements. The relative error was +-0.2-0.3 %. Since Ksub(Hsub(2)O) is known with an accuracy to +-0.5%, the summary error reached +-0.7-0.8%. A parallelism in the variation of K and the apparent molal volumes phisub(v) with the concentration was established, which points to K dependence on volume effects. It is suggested that the relative degree of the effect of electrolytes on heat transfer (as well as for aqueous, formamide, and methanol solutions) is mainly associated with the electron structure of their ions and the solvent molecules

AbstractAbstract
[en] Experiments on heat conductivity of BeCl2, MgCl2, CaCl2, SrCl2, BaCl2, NaCl and C4H9HJ formamide solutions included measurements of heat conductivity coefficient K, cal/cm.secxdegree, equivalent heat conductivity Ksub(e) and apparent heat conduction phisub(k). For all the salts K dependence on concentration was non-linear. Ksub(e) and phisub(k) for infinitely diluted MeCl2 solutions (Ksub(e)0 and phisub(k)0) exhibited a linear dependence on the cation atomic number, as in case of MeCl solutions. It is suggested that heat transfer is promoted by ion masses being close to the solvent molecules mass, the size of ions and molecules being less important
