AbstractAbstract
[en] Results of experimental investigations into corrosion of magnesium, aluminium, St3, armco iron, nickel, stainless steels Kh12N2, Kh17N13M2T, Kh18N10T, Kh18N9, Kh25N16G17A17AR in saturated chlorine solutions in TiCl4, are presented. Temperature dependence of depth factor is shown. It is established that the most resisting materials are stainless steels (Kh18N10T, Kh18N9) and nickel. However, they also have mean corrosion coefficient equal to 7-9 marks according to a ten-mark scale of corrosion resistance

AbstractAbstract
[en] Kinetics and mechanism of iron-armco, nickel- and molybdenum corrosion were studied in molten equimolar mixture of sodium-and potassium chlorides in the presence of vanadium trichloride. The mean rate of corrosion versus temperature and time of exposure are described by empirical equations. The steady state potentials are measured for these metals with drawing their anodic polarization curves. Corrosion resistance of the metals increases in the series Fe-Ni-Mo

AbstractAbstract
[en] Corrosion of nickel has been studied by the method of the rotating disc in melts of potassium and sodium chlorides containing vanadium trichloride in the concentration 0-20.0 wt.% in the temperature range 1103-1328 K. Corrosion proceeds in the diffusion region, the corrosion rate being controlled by diffusion of either V3+ or V2+ depending on the concentration of VCl3 in the melts. The apparent activation energy of nickel corrosion is 43,110-74660 joule/mol
