AbstractAbstract
[en] The study of the ground state properties of even-mass palladium isotopes has been the subject of a large number of experimental studies. A striking feature in Pd isotopes is the occurrence of backbending in 104,114Pd at spin 8+. In order to explore the mechanism of backbending in Pd isotopes, a study of 106-116Pd isotopes in Cranking framework have been carried out

AbstractAbstract
[en] The observed excited states of 122Ce nucleus have been studied in the framework of projected shell model (PSM). The yrast band has been studied up to spin 26 h. The first band crossing has been predicted above a rotational frequency of 0.4 MeV/h that corresponds to first backbending. The calculation reproduces the experimentally observed ground state band up to spin 14h. The electromagnetic quantities, transition quadrupole moments and g-factors are predicted and there is a need to measure these quantities experimentally. (author)

[en] Some time back a systematic study of the yrast bands in even-even nuclei in the neutron-deficient light neodymium nuclei has been carried out. A systematic study of the experimental data indicates that the 142Nd is a spherical nucleus

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Gd isotopes with neutron number around N=90 lie at the lower limit of the deformed region. In this region, a sudden change occurs from vibrational to the rotational character. The 153Gd isotope lies in the heart of this region. To investigate the nuclear structure of this isotope, various spectroscopic studies have been done in the past. The excitation spectra and staggering in positive parity band of 153Gd is well reproduced by the present calculations. The smooth gain in alignment observed in this band at ħω=0.37 MeV is reproduced by the calculated results at ħω=0.33 MeV at I=41/2+. This smooth gain in alignment is due to mixing of 1-qp neutron i13/2[660]1/2+ and i13/2[651]3/2+ bands with 3-qp band arising from the coupling of 1-qp neutron i13/2[651]3/2+ band with 5/2 and 7/2 components of proton h11/2 orbital
