AbstractAbstract
[en] It has been established the model for the F+2:02- formation in LiF:OH- irradiated based on a statistical distribution of the defects produced during the electron irradiation at - 300C. These stabilized centers are formed during the thermal diffusion of the anionic vacancies in competition with the isolated F+2 centers. A critical distance of thirteen lattice parameters determined for the vacancy capture suggested that the 02- - α dipole is the precursor entity responsible for the F+2:02- creation. (author)

[en] The phase diagram of the system LiF-GdF3 has been revised, using differential thermal analysis (DTA). We observed a eutectic reaction at 25 mol% of GdF3 and 698 deg. C and a peritectic reaction at 34 mol% of GdF3 and 755 deg. C. We found indications for a GdF3 phase transformation from hexagonal to orthorhombic at 900 deg. C. An identification of the formed phases was made by X-ray diffraction and SEM

AbstractAbstract
[en] Application of laser fluorimetry for the determination of trace levels of uranium in aqueous samples has been evaluated. The various parameters that may influence the sensitivity and accuracy of the method have been investigated. It was verified that the method is applicable to samples in the concentration range between 1 to 100 ppb U. The precision is 9% in the 1 ppb U level and 2% for 100 ppb. (author)

Propoe-se no presente trabalho, a aplicacao da fluorimetria por laser na determinacao de tracos de uranio em solucoes aquosas. Investigaram-se diversos parametros experimentais que influenciam a precisao do metodo, e verificou-se que o metodo e aplicavel para amostras com concentracoes de 1 a 100 ppb U, com precisao de 9% no nivel de 1 ppb U, e 2% para 100 ppb U. [en] A color center laser based on F center emission in LiF monocrystals doped with Mg and OH- was operated at room temperature. The Li monocrystals were grown under dry N2 atmosphere by a modified Czochralski technique and irradiated with 50 keV X-rays or 1 MeV electrons in order to produce F centers, F aggregates, and hole centers. F2 center action was observed at 690 nm with about 250 W of peak output power and 10 ns pulse width
