AbstractAbstract
[en] The authors demonstrate an application of PAC to the study of magnetic ordering in random alloys. Using 111Cd as a probe the spin-glass freezing in AuFe-alloys of different concentrations could be observed. In the Au82Fe18 alloy no indication of ferromagnetism above the freezing temperature was found, due to the fact that the 111In probe nuclei are located in a Au rich environment. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] All the available experimental data on the hyperfine fields in the ferromagnetic hosts of Fe, Co, Ni, and Gd have been collected and tabulated. The best values for dilute-impurity hyperfine fields in Fe, Co, and Ni hosts are plotted as functions of the solute atomic number. Some useful relations of the curves to impurity electronic configurations are pointed out. (auth)

[en] Moessbauer studies of a large number of glass samples prepared in different species of alkali oxide in the permissible region of glass formation are reported. Some representative samples are studied in the temperature range (85-5000K). (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Quadrupole interaction frequency (QIF) of 57Fe in Zr host is measured as a function of temperature in the range 80deg-570deg K. Sample was made by arc melting high purity zirconium and enriched iron. The absolute value of quadrupole splitting varies from 0.67 mm/sec to 0.57 mm/sec in the measured temperature range. This is in contrast with the prediction made by Janot that temperature dependence should be small. The temperature dependence seems to follow Tsup(3/2) law. The numerical value at room temperature does not agree with the previously reported value 0.33 mm/sec. Large intensity asymmetry (11/12 approximately equal to 1.5) in the quadrupole doublet is observed, which is believed to be arising from the anisotropy of recoilfree fraction. Experiments to rule out any preferred crystal orientations effect are in progress. However, the preliminary results support the assertion. Experiments are also in progress to study the behaviour at liquid He temperature and temperatures above 570deg K. (auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Doppler limited Optogalvanic Spectroscopic technique is employed to study the hyperfine structure of six transitions of 93Nb. An externally stabilized single frequency ring dye laser and a commercial Nb/Ne hollow cathode lamp were used. From the observed well resolved hyperfine components of the spectra the magnetic dipole and the electric quadrupole coupling constants were evaluated. The hyperfine coupling constants for 12 levels are reported in this paper out of which values for four levels are reported for the first time. Our values are compared with the previous data wherever available. (orig.)
