AbstractAbstract
[en] 108Cd and 106Cd nuclei have been studied from the β+/EC decay of 108In and 106In using the isocele II isotope separator working on-line with the Orsay synchrocyclotron. In order to produce indium nuclei, a molten tin target is irradiated by protons (E = 200 MeV) or 3He (E = 270 MeV). The comparison of saturation activity measured after mass separation with the one measured before mass-separation has allowed us to determine the average delay-time of indium isotopes and the overall efficiency of the separator. Single γ rays, conversion electrons rays, γ-γ-t and γ-e--t coincidence measurements have been performed to build level schemes of 108Cd and 106Cd. In 108Cd, the first excited 0+ state has been established unambiguously. This state preferably decays to the 22+ and not to the 21+ as it does in the even-even neighbouring Cd nuclei. An excited 0+ state is proposed in 106Cd. These states could not be interpreted as headstate of collective band corresponding to a shape different from the ground state one. On the other hand, the model of G. Alaga (vibrator + two proton holes), as well as the IBA2 F. Iachello one seem to be able to describe the low-lying states properties. Finally, the feeding balance and the deduced log ft values have led us to discuss the possible values of the 108In and 106In isomeric state spins
[fr]

AbstractAbstract
[en] The 187,185,183Pt and 183Os nuclei, located in a region of shape instability, have been studied from the β+/EC decay of gold nuclei produced by the Pt(p(200 MeV),xn)Au reaction then mass-separated using the ISOCELE II isotope separator. For these four nuclei, levels schemes have been built from γ-γ-t and γ-e--t coincidence relationships and conversion electron measurements. Two very converted transitions have been observed in 185Pt, but none in 183Pt and 183Os. The 187Pt nucleus has also been studied from the 176Y(16O(93 MeV),5nγ) reaction to connect the low spin states to the high spin states. Experimental results have been interpreted In the frame of the 'rotor axial + quasi-particle HF' model. All the states located below 600 keV in 185Pt, 183Pt and 183Os correspond to a 'prolate' shape of the nucleus. But, to interpret the lowest states of negative parity in 187Pt, it is necessary either to consider an oblate-prolate shape coexistence or to take into account the γ-asymmetry parameter (as in the interpretation of the high spin levels of this nuclei). The anomalous M1 multipolarity has been attributed firmly to one of the very converted transitions of 185Pt since the spin values of the states connected by this transition are different. The second very converted transition of 185Pt is located between two states that we have interpreted as prolate-shaped states. Thus it seems that very converted transitions are not due to shape coexistence phenomenon. Complementary experiments are proposed in order to improve our knowledge of these conversion anomalies. AbstractAbstract
[en] The decay of sup(185m+g)Hg has been studied on-line with mass-separated sources from the ISOCELE facility. Precise conversion-electron measurements were performed with a 1800 spectrograph. The 13/2+ isomeric-state of 185Hg (Tsub(1/2)=28+-5s) was located with respect to the 1/2-ground-state (Tsub(1/2)=55+-10s). A level scheme of 185Au has been established. Two abnormally converted M1 transitions de-excite a state located at 330.2 keV. Excited states of 185Au have been discussed in the framework of a ''quasi-particle + axial rotor'' approach, quasi-particle states being issued from Hartree-Fock plus BCS calculations using the SIII Skyrme force. Most of the low-spin negative-parity levels have been identified as hsub(9/2)+fsub(5/2) or psub(3/2)+fsub(7/2) mixed states. The hsub(11/2) system has also been discussed using a model of a single-j quasi-particle coupled to a triaxial rotor

AbstractAbstract
[en] Laser spectroscopy allows the measurement of the nuclear moments and of the changes along isotopic series in the mean-square charge radius of many radioactive nuclei in their ground and isomeric states. Results obtained in the mercury and tin regions are used to show that laser spectroscopy offers a powerful means to determine the shape and deformation of nuclei, structure of states, location of magic numbers and to point out effects of dynamics, pairing..

AbstractAbstract
[en] The transitional doubly-odd iridium nuclei with A = 184 and 186 have been studied from the β+/EC decay of the corresponding platinum isotopes using the on-line mass separator ISOCELE. Configurations can be reasonably Attributed to the low-lying states of /sup 184/Ir in agreement with results already known. On the other hand an E3 transition observed in /sup 186/Ir suggests that the known long-lived 1.7h 2- state is located at 137.5 keV above the 16h 5+ state, raising questions about structure of this latter state

AbstractAbstract
[en] The very simple product of the number of particles by the number of holes appearing in the expression of the reduced B(E2: 0+ → 21+) (B(E2)↑) transition probability of even-even nuclei obtained from the extension of the seniority scheme is used to analyze the experimental B(E2)↑ values in the Cr up to Se isotopes. A new interpretation is given to the B(E2)↑ measured in 68Ni and 70Zn. The B(E2)↑ features of the even-even nuclei between Ni and Se with neutron number ranging from 28 up to 50 fit in with a global scenario involving p-n interaction. The evolution of the B(E2)↑ curves presenting very large values is amazingly reproduced by very schematic binomial calculations. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Gamma-gamma angular correlation measurements have been performed in 187Pt in order to determine the spin values of the states connected by the highly converted transitions. For one of these transitions, we have determined that the spin values of the initial and final states are different, which implies abnormal M1 multipolarity for this highly converted transition. In that case the deduced penetration parameters have especially high absolute values. Moreover we have determined uniquely the spin value of most of the excited states below 800 keV. The occurrence of highly converted transitions in 187Pt is examined and the low-spin negative-parity levels are discussed in terms of shape coexistence. (orig.)
