AbstractAbstract
[en] In the paper the methodic of consistent determination of nuclides of uranium, thorium and radium consists in three stages: preliminary concentration by sorption on the manganese dioxide, ion exchange chromatographic separation and purification of determined nuclides, alpha sources production. Chemical yield of natural radionuclides is controlling by yield of the introduced uranium-234, radium-224, and thorium-228 tracers in the analyzed water samples. Elaborated methodic is applying for study and monitoring for radionuclide water content in the Syrdariya river basin

AbstractAbstract
[en] Full text : Plutonium os one of the most harmful environmental contaminants among the trans-uranium elements. This paper provides the assessment of the possibility to express determine 239 Pu in soils using ICP-MS method. The quantitative determination of plutonium isotopes in soils, as the rule, implies the production of acidic extraction with the subsequent extensive radiochemical preparation and application of the tracer for calculating the plutonium yield. In this paper the 238 U isotope internal standardization is used for correction of matrix influence and for determination of the ICP-MS instrument response due to proximity of its atomic mass and the value of the first ionization potential to those of 239Pu

AbstractAbstract
[en] The paper presents the results of radiation surveying and determination of radionuclide and elemental composition in water objects (soil, bottom sediments, water) of the transboundary rivers Shu, Shor-Koo, Aksu, Karabalta, Toktas as well as of Tasotkel water-storage in Kazakhstan in vicinity of the border with Kyrgyzstan. Increased contents of natural radionuclides of "2"3"8U and "2"3"2Th series, As, Co, Cs, Cu, Hf, Mo, Pb, Sb, Sc, Zn, Zr and rare earth elements were observed in soil and bottom sediment samples. Increased contents of the following toxic elements were revealed in water samples: B, As, Mo, Ba, U. Negative influence of radiation-hazardous sites in Kyrgyzstan on the contamination of the transboundary rivers with natural radionuclides and toxic elements was revealed. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] There is developed complex technique for self-consistent separation of Sr from soil samples. This technique provides chemical recovery of Pu - 60-95%, of Sr - 70-95%, of Am - 50-95 %. The technique includes dissociation of Pu by extraction chromatography method and simultaneous separation of Am and Sr with bis-2-EHPH

AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of combined radiochemical procedure for the determination of plutonium, americium and 90Sr (via measurement of 90Y) in the soil samples from SNTS (Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site) are presented. The processes of co-precipitation of these nuclides with calcium fluoride in the strong acid solutions have been investigated. The conditions for simultaneous separation of americium and yttrium using extraction chromatography have been studied. It follows from analyses of real soil samples that the procedure developed provides the chemical recovery of plutonium and yttrium in the range of 50-95 % and 60-95 %, respectively. The execution of the procedure requires 3.5 working days including a sample decomposition study. (author)
