AbstractAbstract
[en] The NJOY Nuclear Data Processing System has been used to process the ENDF/B-VI , JEF-2.2 and JENDL-3 Nuclear Cross Section Data Bases into multigroup form. A brief description of the data bases is given and the assumptions made in processing the data from evaluated nuclear data file format to multigroup format are presented. The differences and similarities of the Evaluated Nuclear Data Files have been investigated by producing four group cross sections by using the GROUPIE code and calculating thermal, fission spectrum averaged and 2200 m/s cross sections and resonance integrals using the INTER cale. It has been shown that the evaluated data for U238 in JEF and ENDF/B-VI are principally the same while in case of U235 the same is true for JENDL and ENDF/B-VI. The evaluations for U233 and Th232 are different for all three ENDF files. Several utility codes have been written to convert the multigroup library into a WIMS-D4 compatible binary library. The performance and suitability of the generated libraries have been tested with the use of metal tueled TRX lattices, uranium oxide fueled BAPL lattices and Th232-U233 fueled BNL lattices. The use ot a new thermal scattering matrix for Hydrogen from ENDF/B-VI increased keff for 0.5 o/ while the use of ENDF/B-VI U238 decreased it for 2.5 %. Although the original WIMS library performed well for Ihe effective multiplication factor of the lattices there is an improvement for the epithermal to thermal capture rate of U238 while using new data in the TRX and BAPL lattices. The effect of the fission spectrum is investigated for the BNL lattices and it is shown that using U233 fission spectrum instead of the original U235 spectrum gives a keff which agrees better with the experimental value. The results obtained by using new multigroup data are generally acceptable and in the experimental error range. They especially improve the prediction of the reaction rate dependent benchmark parameters

[en] Full text: Introduction: Tracheabronchomegaly (TBM) or Mounier-Kuhn syndrome is a rare syndrome which is characteristic with bronchiectasis, recurrent respiratory tract infections with expansion of large bronchi. Respiration function test, imaging methods and bronchoscopy are used for the diagnosis. Objective and tasks: We aimed to evaluate the findings of virtual bronchoscopy and MDCT of 21 years-old male patient who has complaint of recurrent lower respiratory tract infection. Materials and methods: We perform thorax CT and virtual bronchoscopy with 320-detector multidetector computer tomography. Results: Diameter of the trachea at the carina level was 30.5 mm, in turn the diameters of the right and left main bronchi were 18 mm and 17 mm. There were moderate bronchiectasis in the middle and lower zones. Conclusion: MDCT and fiberoptic bronchoscopy have been used for the diagnosis of TBM. In such cases, virtual bronchoscopy is non invasive method for demonstrating luminal pathologies

AbstractAbstract
[en] We have computed the homogeneous barrier height (BH) of Au/n-Si Schottky diodes (SDs). Thereby, Au/n-Si/Au-Sb SDs (24 dots) have identically been prepared, and the effective BHs and ideality factors of these diodes have been calculated from their experimental forward bias current-voltage (I-V) and reverse bias capacitance-voltage (C-V) characteristics. The BH for the Au/n-Si/Au-Sb diodes from the I-V characteristics varied from 0.789 to 0.819 eV, the ideality factor n varied from 1.051 to 1.179, and the BH from C-2-V characteristics varied from 0.801 to 0.851 eV. The Gaussian fits of he experimental Schottky BH distributions obtained from the C-2-V and I-V characteristics have yielded a mean BH values of 0.808 and 0.809 eV, respectively, that are in close agreement with value of about 0.805 eV predicted by metal-induced gap states (MIGS) and chemical electronegativity concepts for Au/n-Si SDs. Furthermore, the lateral homogeneous BH value of approximately 0.834 eV were also computed from the extrapolation of the linear plot of experimental BHs versus ideality factors

[en] Full text: Introduction: Abdominal aortic pseudoaneurysms are rare and life-threatening situations. Trauma and operative procedures are common causes of pseudoaneurysm. Abdominal pain is the most common symptom of them. They are usually detected incidentally. Objectives and tasks: We aim to present CTA findings of abdominal aortic pseudoaneurysm causes gradually increasing lomber pain in 70-year-old female patient. Physical examination also made diagnosis easy because of pulsatile mass detected. Materials and methods: Lomber MRG and endoscopic procedures were normal. Then we performed CTA to find the cause for pulsatile mass. Results: Pseudoaneurysm with approximately 6 x 7.5 cm size was compressing duodenum and not showing extravasation at the infrarenal segment of abdominal aorta detected in CTA. Pseudoaneurysm was filling from aorta through a 2 cm neck. Conclusion: Primary cause for pseudoaneurysms is traumating injuries. Initial presentation may be abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding or pulsatile mass. To plan treatment and figure out pseudoaneurysm CTA is very fast and non-invasive technic

AbstractAbstract
[en] Full text: Objective: Our aim is to determine relationship between angle of intercondylar notch and anterior cruciate ligament rupture within the knee joint. Materials and methods: The images of 64 cases (51 males and 13 females) were evaluated retrospectively. Half of these cases are control group and others have anterior cruciate ligament rupture (32/32, control/ patient groups). MRI studies were performed with 1.5 tesla MR unit (Siemens, Avanto, Erlangen, Germany). The presence of anterior cruciate ligament rupture is confirmed by using axial, sagittal and coronal MR images. On sagittal T1 W images, the angles of intercondylar notch within the knee joint were recorded in groups of the patient and control. One-Sample Kolmogorov- Smirnov test and independent sample t-test was used for statistical analysis. According to ROC analysis, it was determined threshold value of the angle of the intercondylar notch and were calculated odds rates. Results: The mean age for group of patients (32 patients) was 30.1 years (range, 18-52 years). The mean age for group of control (32 cases) was years 34.4 (range, 20-50 years). The mean angle for the group of control and the group of patients were 53.18±0.74 (mean±2SE), 49±1.12 (mean±2SE), respectively. According to these results, the notch angle for the group of patient is lower than group of control. The ideal threshold value of notch angle was found to be 50.5 (p<0.001). The angle measurements under the threshold value have been associated with ACL rupture. According to this threshold value, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV) and accuracy rates for angle of intercondylar notch for ACL rupture in differentiating group of patient from group of control are calculated as 68%, 84%, 81%, 72% and 76%, respectively. The rates of odds for the group of control and the group of patients were found to be 4.4, 0.370, respectively. Ratio of odds was calculated to be 11.89. Consequently, persons that notch angle is under the threshold value are likely to rupture of the ACL approximately 12 times more than people that notch angle is above the threshold value. Discussion: Since notch roof angle varies from person to person and does not change with rupture of the ACL, angle measurements under the threshold value in healthy individuals can be an indicator of ACL rupture tendency

AbstractAbstract
[en] Full text: A metallic poly-pyrrole film has been directly formed on a p-type Si substrate by means of an anodization method under conditions of constant current density by an electrolyte being held at a constant temperature of 55 deg. C that was composed of 0.40 M pyrrole and 0.10 M tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate. An aluminum electrode was used as an ohmic contact. The poly-pyrrole/p-Si/Al structure has demonstrated clearly rectifying behavior by the current-voltage curves studied at room temperature. The capacitance-voltage-frequency curves of the structure have been measured at different frequencies at room temperature in dark. In order to observe the effect of the ageing, the measurements were also repeated 7, 15, 30, 60 and 90 days after fabrication of the poly-pyrrole /p-Si/Al structure. Interface states distribution curves obtained from the capacitance-frequency characteristics with respect to increasing ageing time. During the whole measurement process, the probe of holder on sample was fixed to eliminate effects of surface inhomogeneity

AbstractAbstract
[en] Full text: A hibernoma is a rare benign soft tissue tumor derived from brown fat. The tumor is also known as 'fetal' lipoma, lipoma of embriogenic fat and lipoma of immature adipose tissue. Hibernomas are slow growing, painless soft tissue tumors which do not recur after surgical resection. Preferred locations are brown fat containing sites as thigh, inter scapular region, shoulder, axilla and mediastinum. The tumor occurs most commonly in adults, with a mean age of 38 years (age range, 2-75 years). We present a rare case of hibernoma with radiological and pathological findings

AbstractAbstract
[en] Full text: 61-year-old man was referred to our radiology department for abdominal Multi detector computed tomography (MDCT) evaluation because of undefined abdominal discomfort. MIP and curved MPR scans revealed that, the mass is a true sacculary aneurysm at the midportion of the right gastroepiploic artery. Gastroduodenal artery aneurysms are the least common of all the splanchnic artery aneurysms. We appreciated the case as a right gastroepiploic artery aneurysm. We couldn't find any similar case in the literature
