AbstractAbstract
[en] Thallium-201 is generally used for intravenous myocardial scintiscanning. In the 42 patients investigated during the study, the sensitivity of this method in the diagnosis of reduced myocardial perfusion was judged to be superior to that of exercise electrocardiography. The most reliable conclusions could, however, be drawn from the combined results of both these non-invasive techniques. Coronary angiography was carried out for reasons of comparison and proved that the method under investigation, even though showing an extremely high sensitivity, was less satisfactory as regards specifity. Myocardial scintiscanning using thallium-201 constitutes the only non-invasive technique suitable for the evaluation of cardial microcirculation. It must therefore be regarded as an ideal diagnostic tool to be used in combination with coronary angiography which, in turn, provides evidence of macroscopic changes. Moreover, myocardial scintiscanning using thallium-201 still remains the only procedure permitting acute myocardial infarction to be detected within the first few hours following the incident. (TRV)

Thallium-201 wird zur intravenoesen Myokardszintigraphie verwendet. Bei den im Rahmen dieser Studie untersuchten 42 Patienten wurden myokardiale Perfusionsminderungen mit hoher Sensitivitaet erkannt, die diejenige der Belastungselektrokardiographie uebertraf; die Zusammenfassung beider nichtinvasiver Methoden lieferte jedoch die besten Ergebnisse. Als Referenzmethode diente dabei die Koronarangiographie. Bezueglich der Spezifitaet muessen gegenueber der ausgezeichneten Sensitivitaet Abstriche in Kauf genommen werden. Die Myokardszintigraphie mit 201-Thallium erlaubt als einzige nichtinvasive Methode die Beurteilung der kardialen Mikrozirkulation. Sie wird dadurch zu einer idealen Ergaenzung der Koronarangiographie, die ihrerseits die makroskopischen Veraenderungen aufdeckt. Schliesslich ermoeglicht die Thalliumszintigraphie als einzige verfuegbare Methode die Darstellung eines akuten, frischen Myokardinfarktes innerhalb der ersten Stunden nach seinem Auftreten. [en] In the first part of the paper, the general pathological, diagnostical and therapeutical measures against seminomas and teratomas are dealt with. In the second part, the results obtained by the radiotherapeutical division of the University Clinics of Freiburg 1964-1977 in the treatment of seminomas and teratomas are described. The average age of the 59 seminoma patients was 36 years, the average age of the 28 teratoma patients was 26. The 5-years-total survival rate of the seminoma patients was 80.8%, for teratoma patients it was 30.5%. In the individual phases, of all seminoma patients in stage I, 93.1% were still alive after 5 years, in stage II 95.9%, in stage III 12.5%. The 5-years survival rate of the teratoma patients in stage I was around 100%, in stage II around 36.8% and in stage III around 20.5%. In the discussion, the problems of the histological and pathological classification for testicular tumours are talked about and the treatment methods used at the Freiburg university clinics are described. The results obtained in the Freiburg university clinics are compared with those of other authors. (orig./MG)

Im ersten Teil der Arbeit wird auf die allgemeinen pathologischen, diagnostischen und therapeutischen Massnahmen bei Seminomen und Teratomen eingegangen. Im zweiten Teil sind die Ergebenisse der strahlentherapeutischen Abteilung der Universitaetsklinik Freiburg von 1964-1977 in der Behandlung von Seminomen und Teratonen beschrieben. Das Durchschnittsalter der 59 Seminompatienten betrug 36 Jahre, das der 28 Teratompatienten 26 Jahre. Die 5-Jahres-Gesamtueberlebensrate der Seminompatienten lag bei 80,8%, die der Teratompatienten bei 30,5%. In den einzelnen Stadien hatten von allen Seminompatienten im Stadium I 93,1%, im Stadium II 95,9% und im Stadium III 12,5% nach 5 Jahren noch gelebt. Bei den Teratompatienten lag die 5-Jahres-Ueberlebensrate im Stadium I bei 100%, im Stadium II bei 36,8% und im Stadium III bei 20,5%. In der Diskussion wird die Problematik der histo-pathologischen Klassifizierung fuer Hodentumoren besprochen, die Behandlungsmethoden an der Universitaetsklinik Freiburg bei Hodentumoren beschrieben und die Ergebnisse der Universitaetsklinik Freiburg mit denen anderen Autoren verglichen. [en] This letter reviews the potential of a high luminosity e+e- linear collider (LC) in the precision study of the Higgs boson profile. The complementarity with the large hadron collider (LHC) Higgs physics program is briefly discussed. At the LC the Higgs mass can be best measured exploiting the kinematics in the Higgs-strahlung process: e+ e- → Z → ZH. Spin, parity and charge-conjugation quantum numbers of the Higgs boson can be determined in a model-independent way. At the LC the Higgs boson production and decay rates can be used to measure the Higgs couplings to gauge bosons and fermions. Several extensions of the SM model introduce additional Higgs doublets and singlets. A no loose theorem guarantees that in a general supersymmetric model embedded in a GUT scenario at least one Higgs boson will be observable at √s = 500 GeV with L = 500 fb-1. At the LHC the SM Higgs boson or at least one Higgs boson in the MSSM will be observed. Beyond its discovery a limited number of measurements of Higgs boson properties can be carried out at the LHC (mass, total width for a heavy Higgs boson, some ratios of couplings). The complementary of LC over LHC concerning the Higgs sector is threefold: first the accuracy of these measurements will be increased, secondly the absolute measurements of all the relevant Higgs boson couplings, including the Higgs self coupling, will be possible only at LC, and finally extended Higgs sector scenarios can be observed at LC closing the loopholes of a possible non-discovery at the LHC
