[en] Results on the resonant substructure in decays of charmed mesons are presented, including new measurements of Kπππ final states. Recent results - mainly on Cabibbo-suppresed D decays - are also indicating the necessity to include final state interactions in their description. (orig.)

[en] Recently updated measurements of the B⁰antiB⁰ mixing parameter at the LEP storage ring are reported. The combined result from ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL dilepton analyses is χbar = 0.119 ± 0.012. The first observation of the time dependence of the B⁰antiB⁰ oscillations is presented. Clear evidence for the time-dependent nature of the B⁰_dantiB⁰_d oscillation has been found by the ALEPH collaboration, using the vertex structure and charge correlation in D^*-lepton and dilepton events. The frequency extracted from a fit to the D^*-lepton distribution corresponds to a mass difference between the B⁰_d states, of 3.44 ^+0.65_-0.70 (stat.) ^+0.26_-0.20 (syst.).10^-4 eV. 3 figs., 15 refs

[en] H1 is a high energy physics experiment at the electron proton collider HERA at DESY, routinely taking data since 1992. Calorimetric and tracking systems record the properties of the particles produced in the collisions in a total of 270,000 electronic channels. The collision frequency of 10.4 MHz necessitates pipelining of all data in the centrally clocked trigger and front end readout systems. This report outlines the architecture of the trigger and data acquisition system and describes the experience gained in the first years of running the experiment. A crucial aspect is the clock phase adjustment and stability of all trigger signals

[en] Requirements are formulated for a sampling hadron calorimeter with gaseous active medium and digital read-out as detector component at a future linear e⁺e^--collider. Monogap glass resistive plate chamber (RPC) prototypes equipped with 1 cm² readout pads and operated in saturated avalanche and streamer modes are studied as a possible detector for digital hadron calorimetry. Operating characteristics of the prototypes such as induced charges, efficiencies and fired pad multiplicities are measured. Preferable RPC specifications are outlined. (orig.)

[en] We report on the measurements of charge transfer in Gas Electron Multipliers (GEM) structures in high magnetic fields. These were performed in the framework of the R and D work for a Time Projection Chamber at a future Linear Collider. A small test chamber has been installed in the aperture of a superconducting magnet with the GEM structures mounted perpendicular to the B-field direction. The charge transfer is derived from the electrical currents monitored during irradiation with an ⁵⁵Fe source. No significant loss of primary ionisation charge is observed, and an improved ion feedback suppression is achieved for high magnetic fields. Additionally, the width of the charge cloud released by individual ⁵⁵Fe photons is measured using a finely segmented strip readout after the triple GEM structure. Charge widths between 0.3 and 0.5 mm RMS are observed, which originate from the charge broadening inside the GEM amplification. This charge broadening is only partly suppressed at high magnetic fields
