AbstractAbstract
[en] The experience in designing the system for preliminary events selection for experiments on the SIGMA and GAMS spectrometers has been generalized. A unit-structure of the system allows one to use it efficiently in different experiments. Some real examples are given to illustrate the operation of the main units of the system. Some of the most typical circuit solutions are given. The main principle,he system based on, is synchronization of counter signals and strob-pulse, their state storage in triggers and subsequent analysis to take a decision on the event recording. To eliminate time synchronization the system in intermediate points is built according to the pulse-potential scheme. Natural is subdivision into three basic units-strob-pulse selection unit (strob-unit), detector signal recording units (recorders) and making decision units. The above division permits to use once constructed strob-unit and recorders in various experiments which reduces the time for designing the new system for preliminary events selection and costs for its design. The subdivision of the recording unit into few-functionally identical recorder-units allows one to synchronize various counter groups and provides the system with the required flexibility. The only unit constructed specially for the above concrete experiment is the making decisions units

AbstractAbstract
[en] Measurements of luminescence periods are conducted for a large batch of heavy scintillation PWO lead tungstate crystals, produced during three years at the Bogorodithk combine using various technologies of mass production of photon calorimeter cells for GAMS spectrometer and other detectors. The technology updating allows one to achieve high time parameters of a scintillation signal, satisfying the rigid requirements of future experiments at accelerators with colliding beams and fixed targets

[en] The multilayer (lead-scintillator) aperture counters used in hodoscopic automated multiphoton spectrometers (GAMS) for operation in high-intensity beams (up to 2 x 107 π-/sec) are described. Owing to the use of light-guide spectrum shifters, the counters have high uniformity and a low threshold of gamma registration

AbstractAbstract
[en] Experience in development of the system for preliminary selection of events for experiments on the ''Sigma'' and the GAMS spectrometers is generalized. The unit structure of the system permits to effectively use it in different experiments. Selection of events is carried out at two levels in the described syste. Signals from a small number (<=12) of detectors are analyzed at the first level during extremely short time period, only simplest algorithms are used for this purpose. Time synchronization signal (strobe-pulse) and blocking signal are generated in case of positive solution. At the second level signals from detectors are remembed by trigger strobe pulse, then these data are analyzed aiming at recording of the given event. The considered system is under operation since 1974 at the IHEP accelerator and it appeared convinient and reliable in operation

AbstractAbstract
[en] The processor designed for particle momentum selection in a magnetic spectrometer during experiments at the 70 GeV accelerator, is described. The number of particles and the coordinate in the hodoscope plane are measured in the processor registers. Information from the registers is transmitted to the solution block where a particle momentum is determined by its deflection in the field of a magnet. The later is used in the second level trigger. The processor allows one to separate effictively the reaction of central hadron interaction and to select the events at the stage before the signal digitizing in the amplitude analysis system

AbstractAbstract
[en] The measurements of scintillation time characteristics have been performed in a large lead tungstate (PWO) crystal sample produced since 1993 at the Bogoroditsk plant, Russia, with different technologies of mass production, for the SAD-150 multiphoton high-resolution PWO spectrometer. The measurement results are presented showing that with the recently improved technology, the high scintillation time parameters are achieved, meeting the stringent requirements of the coming collider and fixed-target experiments. AbstractAbstract
[en] Small Angle Detector (SAD-150) is a PbWO4 heavy crystal electromagnetic calorimeter with high energy and coordinate resolution for multiphoton events. It has been included in the GAMS-4π setup and calibrated in muon and electron beams. Test measurements of forward emitted π0 and η in the π- p charge exchange reactions with 32.5 GeV/c π- at the IHEP proton synchrotron are reported. The measured mass resolution in the η region agrees with the design value. SAD-150 performance does not deteriorate with π- intensities up to 106 π-/s per cell

AbstractAbstract
[en] The branching ratio of a rare radiative decay of the ω meson has been measured: Br(ω → ηγ) = (8.3±2.1) · 10-4. The ω mesons were produced in charge-exchange π-p scattering at an energy of 38 GeV and at large values of the momentum transfer, at which ω-p interference is suppressed. The GAMS-2000 multiphoton spectrometer was used to detect γ rays from the decay of the ω mesons. 21 refs., 9 figs., 1 tab
