AbstractAbstract
[en] Stability of binary alloy under irradiation by appearance of the vacancy-impurity mobile complexes is studied. It is shown that formation of such complexes and their migration to sewers always result in heterogeneous distribution of impurity in irradiated alloy. The heterogeneities strengthen and grow with time if the alloy under irradiation looses stability, i.e. when attenuation decrement R(k) becomes negative

AbstractAbstract
[en] Results of the uranium-zirconium system are summarized. Analysis of contribution of temperature dependence of thermodynamical multiplier to activation energy of mutual diffusion is presented. It is shown that depending on the character of the system from the ideal one this value may by loss of thermodynamical stability essentially decrease or increase the activation energy of mutual diffusion. The regularities related to the uranium-zirconium system were used for interpretation of results on diffusion in the anomalous metals (Zr, Hf, Ti)

[en] Intermetallic growth kinetics under aluminium with titanium and titanium-zirconium alloys interaction in 500-640 deg C temperature range is studied. It is shown that parabolic law of phase growth takes place. Constants growth dependence on inverse temperature has non-linear character under low temperature

AbstractAbstract
[en] Based on the analysis of a number of papers on diffusion and amorphization in binary alloys a conclusion is mode that the reasons for fast diffusion and for high tendency to amorphization under conditions of rapid cooling are the same. These reasons are as follows: high negative values of heats of mixing (or solution) and a low impurity/matrix atomic radius ratio. Regularities of impurity diffusion in β-Ti are analyzed, the contributions of dimensional and thermodynamic factors are divided. It is noted that some derivation from regularities established are revealed for a number of impurities (Zr, Ce, Sc, Y) in titanium and zirconium. 22 refs.; 4 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Hall method was used to study impurity diffusion in a BCC phase of titanium and zirconium. The results were compared with those obtained by radionuclide technique and a good agreement was observed. In addition, the data on impurity diffusion were compared with heats of solution for the same impurities in a matrix which were calculated according to the appropriate mathematical model. It is shown that fast-diffusing impurities heave high negative values of heats of solution in a matrix. The relationships obtained permit forecasting as impurity mobility through the known heats of solution so impurity heat of solution through the level of diffusion mobility. 13 refs., 2 figs., 1 tab

AbstractAbstract
[en] There has been a renewed interest in metallic uranium and its alloys, in connection with fast-reactor development and the possibility of using materials for fuel production. Data on the diffusion and mutual diffusion of the components and thermodynamic properties of the alloys allow judgements on the stability and heat resistance of the materials and facilitate the choice of optimal alloy compositions. This paper considers data on the mutual diffusion in binary alloys of uranium with titanium and zirconium. Also considered is the correlation of diffusional data with the thermodynamic properties of the alloys. 14 refs., 4 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Coefficients of mutual diffusion (D) in bcc lattice of the uranium-titanium system at the temperature of 900-1100 deg C are determined. It is shown that D in the uranium-titanium alloys is dependent in a sufficient degree on their concentration and their temperature dependences are of linear character. Such a behaviour is linked with peculiarities of concentration behaviour of thermodynamical properties of alloys. It is indicated by example of the uranium-zirconium system that loss of thermodynamical stability of alloys similar by composition to equiatomic ones results in the coefficient decrease as well as in activation energy of mutual diffusion. The higher negative values of partial free energy of admixture components correspond to higher coefficients of mutual diffusion

AbstractAbstract
[en] With consideration for available experimental data on self-diffusion in metals (W, Mo, Na) an attempt is made to reveal correlations between diffusion parameters and a temperature course of shear modulus. On the basis of isotopic Debye model and the notion of equation of state for solids it is shown that parameters and coefficients of diffusion in anomalous and nonanomalous metals correlate with shear modulus temperature dependences

Original Title

AbstractAbstract
[en] Coefficients of iron and nickel impurity diffusion in titanium as well as coefficients of mutual diffusion in Ti-Ni and Ti-Fe system β-solutions are determined. It is shown that Fe and Ni are rapidly diffusing impurities, and coefficients of mutual diffusion are almost independent of the composition, their temperature dependence being inconsistent with the course of a liquidus curve. Calculations are made for interaction parameters, thermodynamic multipliers and concentration dependences of diffusion coefficients for Fe and Ni in β-solutions of appropriate systems. It is revealed that these coefficients decrease with an impurity content rise, such behaviour is also inconsistent with a solidus curve course. The decrease of diffusion coefficients is explained by more strong mutual repulsion of similar atoms compared to dissimilar ones. The negative sign and the value of interaction parameters point to the same

Original Title
