AbstractAbstract
[en] Phenomenon of ion stable acceleration in a beam-plasma discharge in a low magnetic field up to energy values by one order higher that thermal energy of electrons was previously detected in the course of the experiments. To check the previously suggested mechanisms of the mentioned phenomenon one measured the function of rate distribution of electrons arriving at the discharge collector together with energy distribution of ions leaving the discharge normal to the axis. One observes essential heating of plasma electrons in the near-the-axis region under the modes when ion are obviously accelerated

Original Title

AbstractAbstract
[en] A method for determining the velocity of plasma jet produced by an arc plasma generator is described. The method is based on introducing into a plasma jet a ''mark'', which is plasma density perturbation created by current modulation of the plasma source by means of a special transistor modulator. The modulator basic circuit is presented. The modulator is connected parallel to a plasma generator and performs a pulsed take-off of current from the plasma generator supply circuit. About 20% of current is taken for 1 ms. The moment of the ''mark'' flight past the given point is recorded according to the saturation ion current of the Langmuir probe placed at this point. The time of delay of the probe current pulse relative to the modulating pulse is measured depending on the distance from the probe to the plasma generator nozzle in order to determine the plasma jet velocity. At plasma densities 1011-1013 cm-3 at the distance 1.5 m from the plasma generator the accuracy of the method in the velocity range 100-300 m/s is shown to account for 25%

AbstractAbstract
[en] Spectral and statistic characteristics of oscillations generated in the beam-plasma system under the propagation of a beam-plasma discharge without magnetic field are experimentally investigated. Comparison of properties and characteristics of beam-plasma discharge, excited by a nonmodulated beam and by a beam with initial modulation by the rate, allows one to ascertain that despite a wide-band HF-radiation spectrum, beam interaction with plasma is of a single-mode or low-mode character; the resulting oscillation spectrum is a result of a chaotic transition between different modes of a system. A qualitative model of a beam-plasma discharge as of stochastic autooscillative system with internal feedback, explaining the observed discharge properties, is proposed and grounded. 33 refs.; 4 figs
