AbstractAbstract
[en] To provide low cost spare parts of the cyclotron vacuum system, the construction of the penning vacuum gauge has been done. The vacuum gauge was made from a hollow aluminium cylinder for the cathode, astainless-steel wire for the anode, and a ring-shaped permanent magnet for the magnet. The result of the observation showed that the vacuum gauge was still sensitive to measure a pressure until 15X10-6 Torr, that means exceeding the plannd value. For all the pressure ranges, the anode voltage which gave the best linearity on the curve of electric current versus pressure was 2.000 volts. (authors). 3 refs.; 1 tab.; 5 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] A measurement of proton particle energy of BATAN Cyclotron was carried out using the stacked copper foils method, as part of testing of the cyclotron modification. The stacked foils activated at beam line by 1.5 μA protons beam during 60 minutes. The measurements were carried out at 38 cm, 41.2 cm and 41.5 cm of stripper radius. The measurements results was accordance with specification of modification namely 24 MeV until 27 MeV. The result also have insignificant differences compared to either theory or the measurement before which used the maximum range of particle

AbstractAbstract
[en] The radial distribution of BATAN CS-30 cyclotron magnetic field has been observed and measured. The observation is perfomed in order to determine wether the magnetic field distribution meets the relativistic distribution that will maitain the stability od accelerated particle orbit. The measured values from innermost radius to the outhermost radius were compared to the theoritical calculated values for proton. it was found that the magnetic field radial distribution did not fully agreed with the relativistic distribution. The maximum phase difference accumulation of moving proton and electrode potential was found to be 66.3 degrees. However, it was considered that it should not cause decleration effect on particle. AbstractAbstract
[en] The contents of minor actinide elements (americium, neptunium and curium) on the spent fuel inventory from PWR operation of NPP have been calculated using Vista program. The calculation used parameters: enrichment 3.968%, power 1000 M We and burn-up is 60 M Wd/kg. The result of calculation showed that the arising of minor actinide elements on the spent fuel is 16.205 kg/year and 43.471 kg/year for PWR-UOX and PWR-MOX respectively. It is also discussed a concept of the use of ADS technology for transmuting the minor actinide elements contained in spent fuels. The result of the discussion showed that an ADS of 400 M Wth will serve 7 PWRs-UOX, and on the PWR system using UOX and MOX fuels an ADS will serve 3 PWRs. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] To prepare a detail design of the Penning ion source of the cyclotron for PET radioisotope production, the anode geometry shapes of ion source have been analyzed. The Poisson-Superfish computer code has been used in the analysis to determine an optimum design of the anode. Three geometry shapes of anode inner wall namely: straight, narrows to center and narrows on center have been analyzed and compared each other. The result of analysis shows that the anode geometry which narrows in center is predicted will has a strongest plasma intensity in the extraction region. The presence of an extraction hole will decrease intensity plasma on this region. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Cyclotron, which is one of the types of particle accelerators, currently has begun to grow in Indonesia that is used for the production of medical radioisotopes. The use development of the cyclotron is supposed to be balanced with domestic ability in understanding cyclotron technology. Cyclotron technology works based on the principles of physics so that the mastery of the principles of physics that will support the understanding of cyclotron technology needs to be studied. A cyclotron facility called by DECY-13 Cyclotron is currently being developed. Studies on the opportunity of the cyclotron for the process of physics learning have been done and discussed in this article. The results of the study show that the DECY-13 Cyclotron has the potential to be developed based on branches of applied physics includes thermodynamics, atomic/plasma physics, nuclear physics, relativistic mechanics theory, electromagnetic theory, physics of electromagnetic waves, physics of magnet and nuclear spectroscopy of gamma rays

AbstractAbstract
[en] An Accelerator Driven System (ADS) facility needs high intensity proton beam from an ion source. Multi cusp ion source can supply proton beam of some mA and small emittance as it is required on an accelerator for ADS. Preliminary design of the multi cusp ion source has been carried out. The design follows the design of accelerator facility in JAERI Takasaki. The ion source is hoped can provide light ion beam e.g. alpha until 1 mA

AbstractAbstract
[en] In order to obtain data for development of small scale Accelerator Driven System (ADS), calculations of neutron production that use alpha-Be reaction on the acceleration energy range of 100 to 500 keV have been carried out. The result of neutron yield calculation was compared with calculation result of D-T reaction and both calculations were treated for thick target. At the energy of 100 keV; alpha-Be reaction produces neutron yield about 1/10 compared to that of D-T reaction and increases to 1/5 at energy of 500 keV. At the same acceleration voltage of 250 kV, where the alpha energy is 500 keV and deuteron energy is 250 keV; the neutron yield of alpha-Be reaction is 1/3 of that in D-T reaction. On the last mentioned condition and considering that target cost of Be is cheaper than the cost of T, neutron production on a neutron generator accelerator that uses alpha-Be reaction is a competitive method as neutron source, especially for ADS. AbstractAbstract
[en] The optical potential parameters value in the code ALICE-91 which are used to calculate partial reaction cross-section between 14 MeV neutron and nuclides of mass numbers of 20 until 40 have been determined. The mentioned parameters are volume real radius and volume real diffusivity parameters. Using these obtained parameters the calculation results of reaction cross-section using code ALICE become more accurate. Hence, the average difference between calculation result and data of references has been achieved on a minimum value of 8%. Further by using the ALICE code the reaction cross-section of other nuclides that no reference data's have been predicted

[en] Structure and safety aspects of medical Linac has been assessed. The main structure of Linac consist of electron gun, accelerating structure, deflection system, treatment head unit, microwave system and vacuum system. The safety aspects consists of radiation safety and non radiation safety. The non radiation safety are electrical high voltage, heavy components, high pressure of freon gas, thermal and ozon gas hazards.
