AbstractAbstract
[en] In the HERA electron storage ring and its injection channels, currently approaching completion, a total of 454 dipoles, 716 quadrupoles and 420 sextupoles is needed for beam transport. This contribution focuses on both the hardware and software used for determining the field parameters of the 400 main bending magnets. This paper presents the results of the measurements and their statistical evaluation as well as the sorting strategy used to minimize the perturbation of the β-function

AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper reports on a measuring device that is capable of determining the field parameters of a solenoid magnet by means of a precision Hall-probe. The probe is sensitive to the three orthogonal field components and may be mounted either on a small trolley to run along or on a crank rotating around the axis of the magnet. This way the strength ∫ Bzdz of the magnet as well as the lateral position of the magnetic axis with respect to the mechanical axis of the magnet may be determined. The measured value for ∫ Bzdz meets the design value while the position of the axis deviates considerably. If a second measurement, which is still to be done, confirms these findings, the construction and the alignment of the superconducting coil inside the cryostat will have to undergo a close examination

AbstractAbstract
[en] Alpha-particle spectra resulting from the bombardment of deuterons with α-particles have been measured at energies of 20.4, 24.2 and 28.1 MeV for all kinematically possible scattering angles thetasub(lab) > 50. Angular distributions for the break-up cross section have been obtained by integration over the α-particle energy. The total reaction cross section is computed by extrapolating the angular distributions to 00. The results are compared with predictions calculated from α-d phase shifts and Faddeev theory. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A very versatile system has been developed to meet most of the mechanical requirements for experimental set-ups in nuclear physics. The system components are also suitable for many other physical applications. One characteristic set-up is used to perform kinematically complete correlation experiments at the Hamburg Isochronous Cyclotron. Coplanar and non-coplanar geometry may be used to detect neutrons and charged particles in coincidence. A vacuum tank with sector shape makes the set-up equivalent to a scattering chamber of 2.4 m diameter in an angular range of 23.60. This feature is used advantageously for scattering experiments at very small angles. (orig.)
