[en] Annealing of CsI crystals in air is shown to favour contamination of the crystal with anionic admixtures, while annealing of CsI crystals in vacuo brings about rearrangement of impurity centres. Vacuum-annealed crystals become more plastic; moreover, the mechanism of overcoming hindrances by dislocations changes. The obtained data allow the elaboration of a method for controlling the mechanical properties of cesium iodide

[en] The effects of temperature and strain rate on faulting mode for potassium hydrophthalate (KNC8H4O4) single crystals under compression in two different directions are investigated. These organic crystals are widely used as dispersing elements in X-ray spectral devices to study long-wave X radiation. It is shown that the mechanism of crack formation in faulting dependents on crystal orientation. The faulting is considered to be one of the types of rotational deformation

Исследуется влияние температуры и скорости деформирования на характер сбросообразования в монокристаллах гидрофталата калия (KNC8H4O4) при их сжатии в двух разных ориентациях. Эти кристаллы применяются в качестве диспергирующего элемента в рентгеноспектральных приборах для исследования длинноволнового рентгеновского излучения. [en] Large-diameter single crystals of TeO2 are grown by the Czochralski method in specially designed setups with automatic monitoring of the crystal growth. The degree of perfection of the grown crystals is examined using selective etching and X-ray topography (the Shultz method). The temperature dependence of the microhardness of TeO2 single crystals is investigated for different crystallographic planes, namely, (001), (100), and (110)
