The problems of natural and modifyed radiosensitivity1983
The problems of natural and modifyed radiosensitivity1983
AbstractAbstract
[en] Ways of protective effect of serotonine adrenaline, noradrenaline and its synthetic analogue isoppoterenol on cells in vivo and in vitro are discussed. It is shown that the effect results from the organism incorporated effect of the compounds by means of hypoxia conditions creation and direct effect on the cell. This can include the therapeutic effect

AbstractAbstract
[en] Data testifying to the fact that the level of endogenous glutathion determines the value of anoxia protection and makes a considerable contribution to antiradiation effect of sulphur-g containing protectors (MEhAn MPG) are presentedm possible mechanism of endogenous glutatheine participation in radioprotective effect is discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] In experiments on mice and bone marrow CFUs a study was made of the radioprotective efficiency of serotonin and adrenaline depending on their concentration. It was shown that in order to protect the body a minimum amount of monoamines is requred; the amount to protect CFUs in vivo is about 5 times greater, and to protect CFUs in vitro, the dose is maximum. The animals are protected by such monoamine concentrations which cannot lessen the affection of CFUs in vivo

[en] It has been shown on a whole organism (mice) and isolated cells (Ehrlich ascites tumour) that hydroxyurea has a radiosensitizing action and decreases the endogenous thiol content. Amethopterin fails to produce the same effects

AbstractAbstract
[en] A single intraperitoneal injection of hydroxyurea (0.5 mg/g) in mice bearing Ehrlich ascites tumour synchronized the growth of tumour cells. The fraction of cells synthesizing (H3-thymidine pulse label) was reduced to less than 10 per cent 30 to 90 min after hydroxyurea administration and reached maximum up to 90 per cent 6-8 hours later. Radioresistance of cells determined by the rate of tumour growth and the number of cells without chromosome aberrations was higher in the population exposed in the S phase. The endogenous thiol content of cellscorrelates well with their radiosensitivity, depending on the growth phase

AbstractAbstract
[en] It has been found in mice, by a method of splenic exocolonies, that: (1) serotonin, adrenaline and noradrenaline can protect both isolated bone marrow cells and cells in situ (2) a considerable contribution to a radioprotective action of the amines under study on the animal organism is made by their direct protective effect on cells, (3) with serotonin and adrenaline, ''cell'' protection in the organism is added by a radioprotective action of tissue hypoxia caused by these amines
