AbstractAbstract
[en] Structure and main peculiarities of IKAR ionization spectrometer used for studying elastic scattering of high-energy π- mesons at small angles are described. Regimes of spectrometer operation have been investigated using hydrogen, deuterium and helium as a working gas. Six similar modules of ionization chamber are used in the spectrometer. Each chamber module consists of a cathode with a circular electrode, grounded grid and three circular anodes. Recoil particle energy is determined according to pulse amplitude on the central anode or pulse amplitude sum from the first and second anodes. Spectrometer energy resolution constitutes 60 keV at an intensity of 106 particles/s for recoil particles which path does not exceed the second anode radius. AbstractAbstract
[en] The differential cross section of elastic π-d scattering has been measured in the angular range 200-1700 at Psub(π,lab) = 438 MeV/c using a deuterium bubble chamber. The total cross section of the elastic scattering was found to be 18.0 +- 1.0 mb. The results obtained are compared with Glauber theory calculations. (Auth.)

[en] The differential cross-section of the elastic π-d-scattering at the momentum of 552 MeV/c has been measured in the range of angles 20-180 deg in the L.s. by a deuterium 35-cm bubble chamber placed in a 14.8 kgf magnetic field. AbstractAbstract
[en] Detailed studies of the reaction π-d->π-pn have been carried out in a deuterium bubble chamber at 438 and 552 MeV/c. Various correlation distributions are presented, providing the opportunity to separate the regions where various diagrams dominate. A method is given to pick out diagrams with pion rescattering. The experimental data agree well with calculations which take into account the single and double rescattering of particles as well as nucleon Fermi motion. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The detailed study of the reaction pp→ppπ0 was carried out at seven energies of the incident proton in the region 600--900 MeV. Energy spectra, angular, and effective mass distributions were analyzed. The analysis was performed in the framework of the one-pion exchange model. Taking into account only the P33 wave in the pole diagrams allows one to obtain good agreement with experimental data on various differential distributions. At the same time the predictions for total cross sections are much lower than the experimental data

[en] Spectra of backward produced nucleons are measured in the π-d -> π-pn reaction at incident pion momenta of 371, 438 and 522 MeV/c. A difference between proton and neutron spectra is observed caused by δ33-resonance formation at the pion rescattering on nucleons inside the deuteron. (orig.)
