AbstractAbstract
[en] The purpose of this thesis is to show that radionuclide cisternography makes an essential contribution to the investigation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) dynamics, especially for the investigation of hydrocephalus. The technical details of radionuclide cisternography are discussed, followed by a description of the normal and abnormal radionuclide cisternograms. The dynamics of CFS by means of radionuclide cisternography were examined in 188 patients in whom some kind of hydrocephalus was suspected. This study included findings of anomalies associated with hydrocephalus in a number of cases, such as nasal liquorrhea, hygromas, leptomeningeal or porencephalic cysts. The investigation substantiates the value of radionuclide cisternography in the diagnosis of disturbances of CSF flow. The retrograde flow of radiopharmaceutical into the ventricular system (ventricular reflux) is an abnormal phenomenon indicating the presence of communicating hydrocephalus. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Combined effects of sodium carbonate (SC) pretreatment and hybrid drying methods (freeze drying-instant controlled pressure drop drying (FD-ICPDD), hot air drying (HAD-ICPDD) on nutritional and antioxidant properties of Goji berries were investigated. Compared with distilled water pretreatment, SC pretreatment could obtain products with better quality. Goji dried by FD- ICPDD showed better overall quality than that dried by HAD or FD alone. FD-ICPDD products exhibited higher contents of total Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (140 g/kg), total carotenoids (2.4 g/kg) as well as the strongest ABTS.+ radical scavenging activity (57.6 μmol TE/g). FD-ICPDD could be an alternative drying method for processing valuable agro-products. (Author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this paper we report the present status and progress of HTS Maglev project undertaken at the Southwest Jiaotong University. The efforts and results towards solving the material-related issues in HTS Maglev system are emphasized, including the levitation and guidance forces, the magnetic and thermal stabilities related to the ac loss of YBCO superconducting material during a high speed movement, and the low stiffness of HTS Maglev system

AbstractAbstract
[en] Levitation force of YBaCuO bulk below 77 K and trapped flux dependence of levitation force are studied. Experimental results show that levitation forces increase with decreasing of temperature and decrease approximately linearly with increasing of trapped flux. Guidance forces of a single YBaCuO bulk and YBaCuO bulk arrays are investigated in different field-cooling cases. Results show that guidance force exhibits much hysteresis; moreover, the hysteresis increases with decreasing of measurement height. Both trapped flux and applied field have much influence on the guidance force. Smaller lateral displacement may lead to the elastic lateral motion of the YBaCuO bulk arrays

AbstractAbstract
[en] Onboard high temperature superconducting (HTS) Maglev equipment is a heart part of a HTS Maglev vehicle, which is composed of YBaCuO bulks and rectangle-shape liquid nitrogen vessel and used successfully in the first manned HTS Maglev test vehicle. Arrangement of YBaCuO bulks in liquid nitrogen vessel, structure of the vessel, levitation forces of a single vessel and two vessels, and total levitation force are reported. The first manned HTS Maglev test vehicle in the world has operated well more than one year after it was born on Dec. 31, 2000, and more than 23,000 passengers have taken the vehicle till now. Well operation of more than one year proves the reliability of the onboard HTS Maglev equipment

AbstractAbstract
[en] The first man-loading high temperature superconducting (HTS) magnetic levitation (Maglev) test vehicle in the world has normally operated over one year after its birth on December 31, 2000. Heretofore over 23 000 passengers have taken the vehicle, and it operates very well from first running to now. The HTS Maglev vehicle is over guideway, which consists of two parallel permanent magnetic tracks. The levitation force of the entire Maglev vehicle is measured. Three times measurement results on December 24, 2000, July 1, 2001, and December 24, 2001 are reported respectively, it will be seen from this that the levitation forces do not change nearly after long running. Total levitation force of entire vehicle is 1050 kg at the 8 mm net levitation gap, which the gap between the bottom of liquid nitrogen vessels and guideway face. A measuring equipment of the guidance force of the entire Maglev vehicle is designed and manufactured. The guidance force of the vehicle is obtained by the equipment

AbstractAbstract
[en] Magnetic interaction between multiple seeded melt growth (MSMG) bulk YBCO and the permanent magnet guideway (PMG) has been investigated. There are two modes: parallel and perpendicular between the length directions of the PMG and MSMG bulks. We employ one piece of MSMG bulk and a stacked array consisting of three separated bulks in our experiments. They have similar dimensions and their maximum levitation forces are almost the same except for a slight difference in parallel mode. It is found that the MSMG bulk may be regarded as single larger grain bulk in the perpendicular mode due to inter-grain critical currents and it has much larger levitation force than the stacked bulk array. On the other hand guidance force of the MSMG bulk is larger than the stacked array in both parallel and perpendicular modes. In addition, its hysteresis loss becomes less in perpendicular mode. These indicate that MSMG bulk YBCO is preferable to optimize the present superconductor-PMG levitation system

AbstractAbstract
[en] An ultra high molecular weight polyethylene was irradiated with the electron beam at dose levels ranging from 100kGY to 1MGy. The microstructures of the irradiated samples were characterized by FTIR, gel fraction measurement, DSC and small and wide angle X-ray scattering. For the mechanical properties, a static tensile test and creep experiment were also performed. The cross-linking and the crystal morphology changes were the main microstructural changes to influence the mechanical properties. It was found that 250kGy appeared to the optimal dose level to induce cross-links in the amorphous area and recrystalliztion in the crystal lamellae. At doses above 250 kGy, the electron beam penetrates into the crystal domains, resulting in cross-links in the crystal domains and reduction in the crystal size and crystallinity. The static mechanical properties (modulus, strength) and the creep resistance were enhanced by the electron beam irradiation. The stiffness rather correlated with the degree of cross-links, while the strength with the crystal morphology. (author)
