AbstractAbstract
[en] Previous surveys of experimental level structure in deformed odd-odd nuclei have been updated with recent results for the lanthanide and actinide regions. The relative strengths of the effective neutron-proton interaction derived from these data are compared. The predictive power of a semi-empirical model for level structure in deformed odd-odd nuclei is demonstrated. Comparison is made with recent Hartree-Fock calculations of selected nuclei

AbstractAbstract
[en] The bandhead energies for the two-particle states in doubly odd actinides are evaluated, based on the calculation of the zero-range residual interaction energy contribution. Guidelines are presented to decide the relative ordering of the expected configurations, leading to spin-parity assignments to the ground states and to the isomeric states in these nuclei. Presently available experimental information lists definite spin-parity for only four out of over fifty known nuclides in the region. Expected location of several new isomers, particularly in heavier nuclei, is indicated. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The inverted odd-even staggering of the differential radii of the Eu isotopes, the presence of close lying parity doublet bands, E1 enhanced transition probabilities between parity doublet bands and a very similar magnetic moment of the 3- ground state with the magnetic moment of the 3- ground state in the known octupole deformed nucleus 154Eu-all suggest possible octupole deformation in 152Eu. AbstractAbstract
[en] The ambiguities and the uncertainties about the energy levels of the doubly odd actinide nucleus 93236Np143 are sought to be removed by determination of the bandhead energies of various two-particle configurations expected to appear in the low energy spectrum of this nucleus. The calculations involve quantitative evaluation of the zero range neutron-proton residual interaction energy contribution to the bandhead energy for each configuration. It is concluded that the ground state is the long-lived isomer with spin-parity Isup(π)=6- arising from the configuration [5/2+[642]sub(p)+7/2-[743]sub(n)]. Bandhead energies for eight two-particle states appearing upto an excitation energy of 400 keV are presented and the results are discussed in the context of the available and further experiments.
