AbstractAbstract
[en] In the framework of an experiment performed at the proton storage rings at CERN the production of K0sub(s), rho0, f, g0, Ksup(*)0(896), Ksup(*)0(1430), and phi-mesons could be observed. Both differential and total cross sections agree well with the results of other experiments. The energy dependence of the production of K0sub(s), rho0, and f-mesons can be decribed in the form sigma(pp→ V + x) = a x ln2s - b, while the exclusively centrally produced Ksup(*)0-mesons show at low energies a distinctly steeper ascendence. This behaviour can be qualitatively understood in the framework of the additive quark model. (orig./HSI)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Using an ionisation chamber, it has been shown, that the number of collected charge carriers in liquid argon is strongly influenced by addition of oxygen and nitrogen. Moreover the spatial resolution of hadronic cascades and the possibilities to separate electrons from hadrons have been investigated in liquid argon calorimeters. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A large data set of proton-nucleus collisions at √s = 41.6 GeV has been searched for Θ+ and Ξ(1862) pentaquark candidates. In 2 x 108 inelastic events we find no evidence for narrow signals (σ ≅ 5 MeV/c2 ) in the Θ+ → pK0s and Ξ(1862) → Ξπ channels. Upper limits on production cross sections at mid-rapidity and on ratios of production cross sections to those of well established resonances are presented.(author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] HERA-B is a B physics experiment using an internal target in the HERA proton ring. The main goal of this experiment is the detection of CP-violation in the B system by studying the decay B0 → J/ψKS0. The principle of the measurement and the expected CP reach of HERA-B are discussed. The internal target and the results of test measurements demonstrating the feasibility of the target are described in some detail. The basic design of the HERA-B detector is presented. AbstractAbstract
[en] B0-anti B0 mixing has been observed for the first time. Using the ARGUS detector at the DORIS II storage ring we have studied the decay of the Υ(4S) meson into a pair of B mesons. We found one explicitly mixed event, a decay Υ(4S)→B0B0, which has been completely reconstructed. Furthermore, we observe a 4 standard deviation signal of 24.8 events with like-sign lepton pairs and a 3 standard deviation signal of 4.1 events containing one reconstructed B0(anti B0) and an additional fast l±. This shows that B0-anti B0 oscillations are substantial with a mixing parameter r of r=0.21±0.08. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] HERA-B is an experiment designed primarily to study CP violation in decays of B mesons into the ''gold plated'' decay mode B0 →J/ψ K0S. The B mesons are produced in interactions of 820 GeV protons in the HERA proton beam with an internal wire target in the beam halo. Besides a short overview, the conception of the internal target and the results of the target tests are addressed. The detector requirements as well as the main detector components are described, whereas the physics goals of the experiment and some details of the detector are described elsewhere in this issue. AbstractAbstract
[en] Recent results on hadronic D0 decays and P-wave charmed mesons are discussed. The data have been collected with the ARGUS detector at the e+e- storage ring DORIS II at centre-of-mass energies around 10 GeV. This presentation includes the observation of several new hadronic D0 decays, the first measurement of an isospin mass splitting in the P-wave D meson sector, a decay angular analysis attempting to decompose the D*(2420)0, and the observation of a candidate for an L=1 Ds meson. [en] The results reported here are based on a data sample of 103 pb-1 obtained on the Υ(4S) resonance using the ARGUS detector at the e+e- storage ring DORIS II at DESY. A sample of 49 pb-1, obtained at centre-of-mass energies below the Υ(4S), has been used for continuum studies. (orig./HSI)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e- storage ring DORIS II at DESY, the decay τ- → ντ π-π+π-π0 has been analyzed. Clear evidence has been found for the decay τ- → ντ ω π-. The ω π- system has been shown to be predominantly in a JP = 1- state. Contributions from second-class axial-vector events (JP = 1+) are below 50% at 90% CL. The decay τ-→ ντη π- can proceed only via second-class vector currents. For its decay mode we obtain an upper limit of 1.3% at 95% confidence level
