AbstractAbstract
[en] The Michigan State University 4π Array has recently been upgraded to include the Zero Degree Detector (ZDD), which covers the laboratory polar angles between 0.5 degrees and 1.5 degrees. Data were collected for the reaction 84Kr + 93Nb at beam energies ranging from 15 to 95 AMeV. Preliminary analysis of these data will be presented, and may involve experimental methods for the identification of the decay of non-compact geometries, will be presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] Central heavy-ion collisions in the (nearly) symmetric entrance channels 20Ne+27Al, 40Ar+45Sc, 87Kr+93Nb, and 129Xe+139La have been systematically studied at many intermediate beam energies. The relative sizes of the three largest fragments in the central events are studied using new variables defined from charge Dalitz plots. Autocorrelations between these variables and the method used to select the central events are investigated. Also described are the hidden constraints on these variables that are imposed by definition. For increasing beam energies, the average values of these variables imply transitions from sequential binary disassembly to multifragmentation at beam energies of ∼50 and ∼30 MeV/nucleon in the 40Ar+45Sc and 129Xe+139La entrance channels, respectively. Similar trends are observed for the central 20Ne+27Al and 87Kr+93Nb reactions

AbstractAbstract
[en] Using the large acceptance Time Projection Chamber of experiment E895 at Brookhaven, measurements of collective sideward flow in Au + Au collisions at beam energies of 2A, 4A, 6A, and 8A GeV are presented in the form of in-plane transverse momentum < px and the first Fourier coefficient of azimuthal anisotropy ν1. These measurements indicate a smooth variation of sideward flow as a function of beam energy. The data are compared with four nuclear transport models which have an orientation towards this energy range. All four exhibit some qualitative trends similar to those found in the data, although none show a consistent pattern of agreement within experimental uncertainties
