AbstractAbstract
[en] A description is given of the refrigerator design based on 3He to 4He dissolving which is intented for the experiments with oriented nuclei. Basic refrigerator parameters are presented. At the 1x10-4 mol/s circulation rate a temperature of 0.07K was attained at the sample substrate. The refrigerator is capable to continuously operate at this temperature for 90 h

AbstractAbstract
[en] A cryostat with adiabatic demagnetization designed for studying effects of orientation in neutron-induced nuclear fission is described. Specific features of the cryostat operation, target chamber arrangement, detectors of fission fragments and alpha-particles and equipment for temperature measurement are considered. Main sources of measuring errors are analyzed. The installation has been used for studying effects of nucleus orientation during 233U and 235U fission. The conclusion on high reliability of used equipment and accuracy of obtained results is made

AbstractAbstract
[en] The (n, f) reaction has been studied in polarized 235U nuclei over the neutron energy range 10--200 keV. The effects of the polarization in the total fission cross section and in the angular distribution of fragments were measured. The results are interpreted on the basis of a partial conservation of the quantum number K in the reaction in which the compound nucleus is formed and in the states that form

AbstractAbstract
[en] We report the results of an experimental study of effects of alignment of the target nuclei in fission of 233U and 235U by neutrons. The experimental apparatus is briefly described. Difficulties in the theoretical interpretation of the experimental data are discussed. It is shown that the enhancement of the intermediate values of the quantum number K = 1 and 2 may be due to its partial conservation in the stage of compound-nucleus formation and in the states produced

AbstractAbstract
[en] An improved method has been used to measure target-nucleus orientation effects in fission of 235U by neutrons with energy 50--900 keV in the total fission cross section and in the quadrupole and hexadecapole components of the fragment angular distributions. Analysis of these data jointly with the results of previous studies permits determination of the fissility as a function of the quantum numbers J and K. It is shown that the dominant contribution to fission by p neutrons is from states with angular momentum J=I+- 1/2 (I=7/2 is the spin of the target nucleus), and for a given J the maximum of the fissility corresponds approximately to K=J/2
