AbstractAbstract
[en] Sorption of cesium with xerogels and metal oxides has been studied depending on pH of the solution, the nature of the collector, as well as the temperature of drying and calcinating the sample. It has been established that sorption of cesium correlates with acid-basic properties of xerogels of metals. The correlation is violated in the case the collector thermal treating at temperatures above 120 deg C. The violation is caused by dehydration and crystallization of the sorbent. On the basis of pH-metry and physico-chemical analysis, it has been assumed that sorption with titanium xerogel is performed as a result of acid-basic interaction following the mechanism of a heterogeneous ion-exchange reaction. Sorption properties of synthesized hydroxide sorbents are pre-determined by their chemical acid-basic nature

AbstractAbstract
[en] Coprecipitation of ruthenium (103Ru) small quantities with hydroxides of titanium, iron, zirconium, alupiniume yttrium, europium and gadolinium from the initial nitric acid solution is studied by the method of radioactive indicators. It is shown that ruthenium coprecipitation depends on the nature of metal hydroxides which according to the increasing sorption capacity are in Ti > Fe > Zr > Y > Gd > Eu > Al series (in acid region). According to their retentivity in the alkaline region hydroxides-collectors correspond to Eu, Gd, Y, Zr > Fe > Ti > Al series. The proposed mechanism of ruthenium coprecipitation with metal hydroxides is discussed. It is shown that ruthenium coprecipitation is conditioned by the presence in the solution of neutral complex forms of ruthenium. Investigation data on the effect of different factors on ruthenium coprecipitation (salt background, micro- and macro-component concentration strange ion effect, etc.) with titanium hydroxide are presented. As a whole, ruthenium coprecipitation with the studied metal hydroxides is explained by the authors from the position of acid-base ion interaction with difficulty soluble precipitates

AbstractAbstract
[en] Activity of the Inst. of Nuclear Physics of National Nuclear Center of Republic of Kazakstan relating with establishment and production of isotopes on the base of research reactor and isochronous cyclotron is elucidated. It is noted, that during 10 years (1986-1995) 5.4 Ci of radioactive pharma preparation (RPP) Tl-201 was produced and delivered to different medical establishments and there were examined 3 thousand patients. Effective technology of of regeneration of technological wastes containing expensive thallium-203 isotope is carried out and is introduced to operation. Annual income from thallium wastes regeneration amounts more than $ 44.000. Possibility of RPP Tl-201 receiving in reactions on helium-3 ions is shown. Manufacture of thallium-201 during irradiation of two-layer targets by ion beam with current 50μA is economically proved. Technology of cobalt-57 getting is realized, as well as methodic of radiochemical separation of plutonium-236, -237, -238 radionuclides from uranium target, irradiated by alpha particles. The got sources of plutonium have been used in capacity tracers during perfection of methodic of definition of plutonium content in soil samples of Semipalatinsk test site. Great volume of researches is fulfilled on carrying out of methodic of definition of element and multielement content of petroleum, ,bitumen. geological samples and environment objects (ecological problems), based on atomic-emission methods

AbstractAbstract
[en] The variable-energy isochronous cyclotron is main experimental facility of the Inst. of Nuclear Physics of the National Nuclear Centre of the Republic Kazakstan. It was commissioned in 1972 and was first installation of such kind in the USSR and in Asia. The cyclotron produce beams of different ions: protons -6-30 MeV, deuterons -12-25 MeV, helium-3 ions -18-62 MeV, alpha particles -25-50 MeV. Heavy ions also can accelerated. This cyclotron is the only source of particle beams with energy about some tens of MeV. It is planned to use the cyclotron and develop regular production of radioactive isotopes. For obtained high current beam necessary for isotopes production at the cyclotrons it is of ions beam parameters on the internal and external targets will be determined. Effective and reliable target head will be producing. At the time being more than 20 different laboratories and institutions in the Kazakstan are using radioactive isotopes in their particle. Taking into account the unique features of the cyclotron and the laboratory of the radioactive isotopes in Kazakstan it is planned to use it and develop regular production of radioactive isotopes
