AbstractAbstract
[en] We briefly motivate the next-to-minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (NMSSM). In the NMSSM, a richer Higgs and neutralino spectrum allow for many interesting phenomena that are not present in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model. We propose a supergravity inspired version of the NMSSM (cNMSSM). After considering the different constraints on the parameter space (such as LEP and dark matter constraints), we discuss the phenomenology of the model, the implications regarding dark matter detection, and the prospects for the LHC (sparticle searches and displaced vertices). AbstractAbstract
[en] We consider the fully constrained version of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model (cNMSSM) in which a singlet Higgs superfield is added to the two doublets that are present in the minimal extension (MSSM). Assuming universal boundary conditions at a high scale for the soft supersymmetry-breaking mass parameters as well as for the trilinear interactions, we find that the model is more constrained than the celebrated minimal supergravity model. The phenomenologically viable region in the parameter space of the cNMSSM corresponds to a small value for the universal scalar mass m0: in this case, one single input parameter is sufficient to describe the model's phenomenology once constraints from collider data and cosmology are imposed

AbstractAbstract
[en] We investigate the possibilities of controlling and exploiting the spatial evolution of the four-wave mixing (FWM) idler in a fiber optical parametric amplifier, considering standard single-mode fibers. We found that the use of high pump powers, for a given requirement on the signal extinction ratio and frequency separation between pump and signal, can considerably affect the optical signal-to-noise ratio on the idler frequency due to the residual modulation. We observe that by choosing an opportune length of the fiber, the residual idler modulation can be suppressed or counteracted by an increase of optical average power. Thus, a proper choice of the transmission fiber length can considerably improve the remodulated idler characteristics.

[en] The behavior of an ionization chamber gamma ray monitor in a pulsed radiation field at a linear electron accelerator facility was studied experimentally. A loss of sensitivity was observed due to the pulsed nature of the radiation. By fitting the experimental data to semi empirical expressions, parameters for the conection of the counting efficiency were obtained. (Author)
