[en] The mass of ¹²³I has been determined by measuring the ground state Q-value of the ¹²²Te(³He,d)¹²³I reaction. The measured Q-value corresponds to a mass excess of 87932 +- -+ 9keV to ¹²³I

[en] Effects arising from the existence of lower-l cutoff (l sub(min)) in Heavy-Ion fusion processes are discussed within the framework of the statistical theory. Both the fluctuation cross-section as well as the angular cross-correlation function are seen to be qualitatively affected by l sub(min). (Author)

[en] The concept of statistical windows in angular momentum space is introduced and utilized to develop a practical model for the heavy-ion compound cross section. Closed expressions for the average differential cross-section are derived and compared with Hauser-Feshbach calculations. The effects of the statistical windows are isolated and discussed. (Author)

[en] Heavy ion fusion reactions have been analyzed within a multistep compound model composed of a di-nucleus configuration, coupled to particle and break-up channels as well as to an equilibrated compound nucleus configuration. The resulting fusion cross sections, defined as the summed particle emission cross sections from the equilibrated compound nucleus, are in reasonable agreement with the data for several systems. The resulting angular distributions as well as the time evolution of the system are also discussed. (Author)

[en] A systematic study of the low-energy properties of odd-mass I nuclei is performed in terms of the Alaga model. Previous theoretical works are made up-to-date, according to the present level of experimental information, and extended to lighter isotopes. The residual interaction among the valence protons is approximated by both the pairing force and the surface delta interaction. The refinements introduced by the last interaction are of little importance in the description of low energy states. Excitation energies, one-body reaction amplitudes, dipole and quadrupole moments and B(M1) and B(E2) values are calculated and compared with the corresponding experimental data. Also, a few allowed β-transitions are briefly discussed
