[en] Characteristics of radionuclide neutron sourses of 252Cf base with the activity from 106 to 109 n/s have been investigated. Energetic distributions of neutrons and gamma-radiation have been presented. The results obtained have been compared with other data available. The hardness parameter of the neutron spectrum for the energy range from 3 to 15 MeV is 1.4 +- 0.02 MeV

AbstractAbstract
[en] The prospects of development of the multisphere neutron spectroscopy are analyzed. Presented are the results of investigations into moderization of the multisphere spectrometer through development of new, more effective methods of spectra unfolding, modernization of the spectrometer design with the help of semiconductor detectors, and development of algorithms and computer codes to calculate the sensitivity functions. The numerical experiment has shown that the best results in unfolding a wide class of spectra are obtained by the method of directed choice, that proves theoretical conclusions. A design of the multisphere spectrometer is proposed, that is based on the commercial semiconductor detector DTN-1 possessing very low sensitivity to γ-quanta Monte-Carlo-based algorithms to calculate the sensitivity functions are described. The comparison of neutron spectra, measured by a scintilation spectrometer, a spectrometer with a hydrogen-containing proportional counter, an activation detector and the multisphere spectrometer proves the validity of sensitivity functions
