AbstractAbstract
[en] We present a reanalysis of direct CP violation in the decay KL→π+π-γ. We point out an existing discrepancy between the theoretical and experimental definitions of ε+-γ'. Adopting the experimental definition of ε+-γ', we estimate that ε+-γ'/ε could be as large as a few times 10-4 both within the standard model and beyond. We discuss these estimates in detail and we also show how a judicious choice of Eγ* cuts can increase the sensitivity of the observable ε+-γ' to the underlying CP violation

AbstractAbstract
[en] We consider the impact of isospin violation on the analysis of K→ππ decays. We scrutinize, in particular, the phenomenological role played by the additional weak amplitude, of |ΔI|=5/2 in character, incurred by the presence of isospin violation. We show that Watson's theorem is appropriate in O(md-mu), so that the inferred ππ phase shift at s=mK determines the strong phase difference between the I=0 and I=2 amplitudes in K→ππ decay. We find the magnitude of the |ΔI|=5/2 amplitude thus implied by the empirical branching ratios to be larger than expected from estimates of isospin-violating strong and electromagnetic effects. We effect a new determination of the octet and 27-plet coupling constants with strong-interaction isospin violation and with electromagnetic effects, as computed by Cirigliano, Donoghue, and Golowich, and find that we are unable to resolve the difficulty. Exploring the role of |ΔI|=5/2 transitions in the CP-violating observable ε'/ε, we determine that the presence of a |ΔI|=5/2 amplitude impacts the empirical determination of ω, the ratio of the real parts of the |ΔI|=3/2 to |ΔI|=1/2 amplitudes, and that it generates a decrease in the estimation of ε'/ε

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the rehearsal of alternate immersion, type CEBELCOR, is usually carried out the pursuit of the variation of the potential of the electrode of the sample of interest. With the time, the obtained data become an important tool in the analysis of the evolution of the answer of the material it attacks corrosive of the means, with the time of material exhibition, with the advance of the exhibition that in it finishes instance it refers to different superficial conditions. In this work the chemical and thermodynamic aspects of the system potential the layout of the diagrams of electrode potential and the differences are revised in the capacity protector versus pH, or Pourbaix diagrams, the analysis is revised usually accepted in the determination of the biggest or smaller capacity protector in a quantity of energy required for the removal of a rust, starting from the difference in the potential in the electron of the atomic structure of the element or moment in that the test tube enters in the composed solution that is oxidized and the inclusion of the electron in the simulator and the value in the moment of the exit. With base in the first approach to the thermodynamic relationships and the corrosion phenomena, the investigation is analyzed by the GROUP OF CORROSION AND PROTECTION of the Antioquia University. It is shown as, for studies in similar materials and in means with small differences, the use of the potentials, loses validity like tool for comparative evaluations

AbstractAbstract
[en] In order to study some traces and tectonic activity of the Villamaria- Termales geological fault isotopic stations in transects of this fault were installed. Genesis of studied gases is quite different. 13 values in soil gas CO2 from Nubia station varied between -7,1 and 8,40/00, which suggests that the CO2 in this area has deep sources as well as an additional superficial biogenic component. Apparently some stations showed radon anomalies before the Quindio earthquake of January 25, 1999. Some another stations during the after earthquakes. Hotel Termales del Ruiz station has an important tectonic activity. Sena and Florida isotopic stations also indicated some degree of tectonic activity

AbstractAbstract
[en] A qualitative examination of claimed radon-222 precursors proposed in the international literature has been reviewed. Some data from continuous radon-222 soils measurements during five years in two Colombian departments are presented and some precursors results registered before seismotectonic events are discussed. Transport mechanisms of gases are discussed, as well as its possible physical interactions with soil minerals. Advection processes are the dominant transport mechanism of gases in the OVSM station

AbstractAbstract
[en] Motivated by the presence of nearby thresholds in other baryon-meson channels with I=1 and S=-1, we investigate whether the Λπ scattering phase shifts at a center-of-mass energy equal to the Ξ mass could be larger than suggested by lowest-order chiral perturbation theory. Within a coupled-channel K-matrix approach, we find that the S-wave phase shift could be as large as -7 degree

AbstractAbstract
[en] We discuss anomalous gauge boson couplings at hadron supercolliders. We review the usual description of these couplings, as well as the studies of a strongly interacting electroweak symmetry breaking sector. We present an effective field theory formulation of the problem that relates the two subjects, and that allows a consistent and systematic analysis. We end with some phenomenology
