AbstractAbstract
[en] The emission of light charged particles in the photofission of 230,232Th, 233,234,235,238U, 237Np, and 242Pu has been studied with bremsstrahlung with end-point energy of 12, 15, and 20 MeV. The light charged particles are measured using a setup consisting of eight ΔE-E particle identification detector telescopes. The kinetic energy distributions and the emission probabilities of tritons and long-range alpha particles were determined. The presence of photoprotons obscures the identification of ternary protons while 6He particles were observed clearly, however, with insufficient statistics to allow meaningful conclusions concerning their energy distribution or emission probability. The average kinetic energy of the ternary tritons and α particles and the width of the triton kinetic energy distributions seems to be practically independent of the compound nucleus excitation energy or Z2/A. Only the width of the long-range alpha particle kinetic energy distribution shows a slight increase with increasing Z2/A of the compound nucleus. Our results point toward a slight increase of the ternary alpha particle yield with increasing excitation energy of the compound nucleus. As already observed by Wild et al. for spontaneously fissioning nuclei, this yield shows a clear correlation with left-angle Q right-angle -left-angle Etot*right-angle, where Etot* is the total kinetic energy, suggesting that the light charged particle emission probability is determined by the deformation of the system at scission, and that, for the compound nucleus excitation energy studied in our experiments, the excitation energy transferred to the compound nucleus remains in the system as internal heat, and is not transformed into deformation energy

AbstractAbstract
[en] Although several authors have claimed that the function of an obstructed kidney could be overestimated on Tc-99m DMSA imaging, the clinical importance of such an overestimation has not been well documented. Partial obstruction of one ureter was created in a rat, and a relative Tc-99m DMSA uptake was obtained 4 hours after intravenous injection. By puncture of the isolated obstructed kidney, it was shown that the function of that kidney was overestimated by at least 17%

AbstractAbstract
[en] Gamma ray spectrometry of fission product catcherfoils and energy correlation measurements were performed for the photon induced fission of 232Th with 12 and 20 MeV bremsstrahlung. The postneutron mass distributions show a third peak for symmetric fission. In the light and heavy mass wings strong fine structures are observed, probably due to odd-even effects. As usually observed, the total preneutron fragment kinetic energy decreases with increasing excitation energy of the compound nucleus in the vicinity of mass 130. For symmetric fission however, the fragment kinetic energies show an increase. Compared to 12 MeV bremsstrahlung induced fission, the number of emitted neutrons increases for fission induced with 20 MeV bremsstrahlung. This can completely be attributed to the heavy fragment. AbstractAbstract
[en] Experimental information is presented from the neutron rich 103Zr to the neutron deficient 103Sn. At the neutron rich side, new infomation on the β- decay of 103Zr (1.3 s), 103Nb(1.5 s) and 103Mo (67.5 s) is presented. From (n,γ) studies, very elaborate level and γ information in 103Ru (d,t) experiments. The β- decay of 103Ru (39.26 d) was studied extensively while the 103Ag epsilon decay was also reinvestigated. Excited states of 103Pd were studied via 104Pd(d,t),(3He,α). The 103Cd epsilon decay (7.3 min) has been investigated by several groups. (hI,xnypγ) reactions were used in the study of the high spin states in 103Ag. For the first time, experimental information is shown for the decay of 103In (65 s). Theoretical studies on different properties of A = 103 nuclei are reported in the adopted levels tables

AbstractAbstract
[en] The emission of light charged particles (LCP) in the photofission of 233U, 235U, 237Np and 242Pu with 12, 15 and 20 MeV bremsstrahlung was studied. For the identification of the LCP ΔE-E detectortelescopes were used. We have determined the triton and α particle emission probabilities and the characteristics of the kinetic energy distribution of the α particles. Our measurements show that the excitation energy transferred to the compound nucleus essentially doesn't change the emission probability of the LCP. Our results are compared to sf and thermal neutron induced fission results. They are consistent with the idea that the LCP emission probability is correlated to the deformation energy of the system at scission. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The 1980 evaluation for mass A = 105 has been revised, considering all data available before March 1985. Experimental information is presented from the neutron-rich 105Zr to the neutron-deficient 105Sn. At the neutron-rich side, new information on the β- decay of 105Nb (2.95 s) and 105Mo (35.6 s) is presented. From 106Pd(t,α) experiments useful information on the excited states of 105Rh was obtained. At the neutron-poor side, the 105In epsilon (decay (5.07 min) was reinvestigated thoroughly and a lot of new information on the excited states of 105Cd obtained. Theoretical studies on different properties of A = 105 nuclei are also reported in the adopted levels tables
