[en] The paper treats the problem of the change of diphase helium stream in a rotating radial channel. Length of the channel section where separation of phases takes place has been estimated. The phase state was proved to approach saturation state under the conditions characteristic of turbo-generator cooling systems. A nomogram was given for the separated flux of saturated helium, allowing to determine the dependence of pressure and gaseous steam on the radius at a given rotational speed and in determined conditions at the channel. Untersucht wird das Problem der Aenderung der Stroemungsparameter von zweiphasigem Helium in einem radialen rotierenden Kanal. Die Laenge des Abschnittes wird abgeschaetzt, auf dem die Phasentrennung erfolgt. Es wird gezeigt, dass unter den Bedingungen von Kryoturbogeneratoren der Phasenzustand in der Stroemung dem Saettigungszustand nahekommt. Fuer die Schichtstroemung von gesaettigtem Helium wird ein Programm angegeben, aufgrund dessen die Abhaengigkeit des Druckes und Dampfgehaltes vom Radius bei vorgegebener Rotationsfrequenz und den Eintrittsbedingungen in den Kanal festgestellt werden kann. [en] Specific features of electrical resistivity and magnetic properties of high-resistance metaloxide ceramics based on lanthanum and yttrium are considered. The data indicate that superconductivity for the above systems is realized through a network of conducting channels. The superconducting gap width is estimated to be 2Δ ≅ (5.2 - 5.9)xkTc and its temperature dependence as well as Hc1 values for some ceramics, are found

[en] Single crystal growth of YBa2Cu3O6,5+x using BaCuO2-CuO flux method is presented. The structure of crystals is close to tetragonal with lattice parameters a=3,872 A, b=3, 898 A and c=11,700 A. Crystals up to 2x1x,03 mm exhibit block structure with the angle 1-2 deg between blocks. The surface of many crystals exhibits exstensive step decorations. Thermal annealing in oxygen flow increases the ratio b/a (a=3,833 A, b=3,898 A and c=11,700 A). The microtwinning along (200) and (020) directions is observed. The transition temperature depend upon the annealing conditions and varies from 30 to 90 K. 6 refs.; 6 figs

[en] A survey is given of the results of Soviet investigations on heat transfer during pool boiling of cryogenic liquids. Aspects studied include vapour bubble dynamics, heat transfer coefficients for nucleate boiling and the first critical heat flux density. The formulas proposed in the survey allow calculations of these characteristics to be made with an accuracy acceptable in practical engineering. (author)

[en] The development of low-temperature physics and engineering in the Soviet Union since 1928 is briefly reviewed. The problem of reliable structural materials for use at low temperatures has recently become of particular importance due to the advent of new cryogenic technologies. Only some aspects of the development of the cryogenic materials science in the Soviet Union are discussed. The discussion covers the mechanical properties of materials (Ti- and Al-base alloys, some stainless steels) under static and dynamic loading, the effect of low-temperature thermal cycling on mechanical properties of materials, the magnetic field effect on mechanical properties of materials, and the mechanical properties of superconducting cables
