AbstractAbstract
[en] Dependence of spatial resolution of positron sensitive detectors with scintillators of elongated rectangular CsI(Na) monocrystals on the crystal depth, quantity of crystal surface treatment,a reflector type and energy of γ-quantum detected, is discussed. Among rectangular crystals used in detectors the crystals with thin dull surfaces and a white reflector possess the best spatial resolution

AbstractAbstract
[en] The results on testing a batch of 10 X-ray detectors with scintillators on the basis of NaI(Tl) monocrystal 30x63 mm in-size during 16 years are analyzed. The detectors were irradiated 11 times during this period with 137Cs γ-quanta. The conclusion is made that the probability of failure-free operation of the detectors is equal to one

AbstractAbstract
[en] Single-coordinate position-sensitive scintillation detectors (PSDs) are used in scanners for recording the distributions of radioactive isotopes in various objects. NaI (T1) or CsI (Na) single-crystal ingots are used as scintillators in such PSDs. This paper examines the effects of crystal height, surface quality, holder type, and the energy of the recorded gamma quanta on the space resolution of position-sensitive detectors with scintillators of elongated rectangular CsI(Na) single crystals. The experimental data were used to calculate the effect of radiation energy on space resolution for detectors with white and black reflectors. It is shown that among the rectangular crystals used in detectors, those with narrow matte surfaces and white reflectors have the better space resolution

AbstractAbstract
[en] An attempt is made to correct pharmacologically the dis- orders in the regulatory of hypothalamus caused by gammaneutron-irradiation. For this purpose purine derivatives, ethymisol and meradin, were used. These preparations were effective in correcting fully or partially the postirradiation shifts in the balance between the hypothalamus mediators, catecholamines, and their biosynthetic precursor, dioxyphenylamine (DOPA). In addition, meradin increased the firmness of the bone regenerator in the traumatized extremity of the animal

AbstractAbstract
[en] Positionally sensitive detectors are used in the detector blocks intended for detection of radioactive elements and determining their distribution in time and space. In medical diagnostics one-coordinate detectors in corporograph-densitometers are used with NaI(T1) scintillators as plates or rods up to 700 mm in length. In gamma cameras two-coordinate detectors are used, with scintillators as discs 450-500 mm in diameter or 450 x 500 mm plates. Single crystalline scintillators of such dimensions are difficult to prepare, their mechanical properties are unsatisfactory, they are characterized by non-uniformity of emission and significant light scattering on the block boundaries. The purpose of the present work was development of preparation techniques for alkali halide scintillators of large dimensions and detectors based on them having increased mechanical strength and uniformity of scintillation characteristics, i.e. with higher positional sensitivity. This has been achieved by means of thermomechanical processing of single crystals. (author)
