AbstractAbstract
[en] Recently obtained primary transition intensities from two-step gamma-ray cascade investigation in 14 heavy nuclei: 137,138,139Ba, 146Nd, 150Sm, 156,158Gd, 160Tb, 164Dy, 168Er, 174Yb, 181Hf, 196Pt, 198Au are analyzed. Experiments based on thermal neutron capture were undertaken mainly at the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics. Comparing these measured intensities and statistical model predictions, some properties of compound-state depopulation were derived. For the spherical nuclei of 137,138,139Ba and 146Nd very intense cascades with high-energy primary transitions were observed. Rather different is the behaviour of the cascade intensity in the strongly deformed nuclei of 156,158Gd, 160Tb, 164Dy, 168Er and in transitional nucleus of 150Sm -intensity of primary gamma-rays with E1 ∼ 2-3 MeV overestimates the calculated value by more than one order of magnitude. 22 refs., 5 figs., 3 tabs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Intensities of two-quanta cascades are obtained for 2-3 final low-lying levels of the following nuclei 146Nd, 174Yb and 183W. These measured intensities are compared with the intensities calculated in the frame of various models at primary transition energies ranging from 0.5 MeV to the neutron binding energy. Some excitation energy intervals are revealed, experimentally obtained intensities of cascade are inconsistent with model calculations. 15 refs.; 7 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Using the method of coincident pulse amplitude simulation, the γ-decay scheme of the 146Nd compound state, excited in the thermal neutron capture by 145Nd is studied. The comparison between the obtained data on the 146Nd decay and the results of the last detailed study and compilation results has shown that the set of 146Nd excited levels below Em=2.5 MeV can be considered as a complete set. Decay of intermediate levels of this nucleus into 146Nd finite states with 0 and 454 keV energy can be also considered as practically exact

[en] In this work a method is suggested of a search for nonstatistical regularities in behaviour of radiative strength fucntion of primary γ-transitions from the (n, γ) reaction. The correlation analysis of the primary γ-transition intensities for the 174Yb, 168Er, 178Hf nuclei has been carried out on the basis of the data from thermal and 2 keV neutron capture experiments. The positive values obtained for the correlation coefficient in the case of 174Yb and 168Er allow the conclusion to be made, at a high level of confidence, about the presence of considerable deviations of the radiative strength function from mean statistical value. 20 refs.; 6 figs.; 1 tab
