AbstractAbstract
[en] New experimental results are presented on inclusive production properties of anti Σsup(*)+(1385) and anti Σsup(*)-(1385) in K+p interactions at 32 GeV/c. The analysis is based on significantly larger statistics than previously available. A comparison is also made of invariant x-distributions of K0/anti K0, anti Λ and anti Σ+sup(+-) and of anti Σ+sup(+-)(1385) and Ksup(*)+(892). These spectra exhibit regularities expected from the quark-recombination picture when it is assumed that the strange mesons and antibaryons are produced off the strange anti s-valence-quark in the incident K+ meson. Transverse momentum distributions are also presented for Ksup(*)+(892) and anti Σsup(*)sup(+-)(1385) and found to be very similar. The results on strange antibaryon average multiplicities disagree strongly with a recent version of the additive quark model. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Results are presented on total and semi inclusive cross sections. Longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions of the tensor mesons Ksup(*)+(1430), Ksup(*)0(1430), and f(1270) observed in K+p interactions at 32 GeV/c. The data are compared with Ksup(*)+(892), Ksup(*)0(896) and rho0 vector meson production in the same experiment. The shape of inclusive invariant x-spectra for the strange vector and tensor mesons are found to be rather similar, after removal of diffractive and quasi-two-body channels, in agreement with quark-recombination ideas. AbstractAbstract
[en] Inclusive rho0 and phi production is investigated in K+p interactions at 32 GeV/c. Total and semi-inclusive rho0 and phi cross sections, longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions, including (psub(T)) versus chi dependence are presented. No evidence for a sea-gull effect is observed. Comparison with quark models strongly suggests the possibility that a large fraction of the rho0 and vector mesons are produced as fragmentation products of the incident particles. Study of uncorrelated π+π- pairs in the rho0 mass range provides possible indirect evidence for the existence of diquarks in the proton. (orig.)

[en] We present evidence for a new narrow state decaying into phi π+ with a mass of 2145 +- 10 MeV/c2 and an experimental width of 25 MeV/c2, produced in K+p interactions at 32 GeV/c. The production cross section sigma x BR (→ phi π+) is equal to 11 +- 3 μb. (orig.)

[en] Evidence is provided for a new resonance in the K0sub(s)K0sub(s)π+π- system with a mass of 1.97 + 0.01 GeV and width 40 +- 20 MeV. It is produced with an inclusive cross section of approximately 6 μb in the beam fragmentation process of 4-prong K+p interactions with at least 2 associated V0's at 32 GeV/c and decays dominantly into the K*+-(892)K0s π-+ mode. AbstractAbstract
[en] Inclusive production of Δ++(1232) with tsub(p,Δ)++ < 0.6 (GeV/c)2 is studied in 32 GeV/c K+p interactions. A systematic comparison with the reaction K+p → pX for tsub(p,p) < 0.6 (GeV/c)2 is made. The production properties of the Δ++(1232), of associated π+, π- and K0 production and of the recoiling system X0 are investigated in detail. The polarization of the Δ++ and the energy dependence of the total K+π- cross sections, determined by a Chew-Low extrapolation, are presented and discussed. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Production of anti Σsup(*-) and anti Ψsup(*-) antibaryon resonances in K+ fragmentation processes is observed by studying inclusive anti Λπ+ and anti ΛK+ invariant mass distributions in 32 GeV/c K+p interactions. A possible Ψsup(*-) state is reported with a mass of 2137+-4 MeV and width < approximately 20 MeV. Signals are observed at anti ΛK+ masses of 2240, 2380 and 2540 MeV, which correspond to previously observed Ψsup(*-) states. Evidence is presented for a low-mass antiΛp enhancement around 2145 MeV. AbstractAbstract
[en] The production properties of Ksub(s)0, anti Λ and Λ in K+ p interactions at 32 GeV/c are investigated using the final statistics of the experiment. We present total and semi-inclusive cross sections and average multiplicities. Estimates are given of the diffractive dissociation contributions to total and differential cross sections. The x-, psub(T)-, and transverse mass dependence of inclusive and semi-inclusive distributions is discussed as well as properties of ''prompt'' Ksub(s)0's. The ratio of ''prompt'' Ksup(*+)890 (Ksup(*0)890) to ''prompt'' K0 cross sections is measured to be 1.03+-0.12 (0.98+-0.17). From a comparison of anti Λ production in Ksup(+-) p interactions at 32 GeV/c, we estimate a strange sea-quark suppression of 0.26+-0.02. The double differential cross sections of Ksub(s)0's is studied as a function of Feynman-x and psub(T)2, and a Triple-Regge fit performed. The data are compared in detail to versions of the LUnd-model for low-Psub(T) hadronic collisions. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We present final results on inclusive production of Ksup(*+)(890), Ksup(*+)(1,430) and anti Ksup(*-)(890) in anti K+p interactions at 32 GeV/c, based on a statistics of proportional27 events/μb. Total cross sections, psub(T)- and z-dependence of inclusive distributions are compared with experiments at other energies and with the Lund fragmentation model. Spin density matrix elements of the Ksup(*+)(890) are also discussed. The results suggest that ''recombination'' of both initial state valence quarks anti s and u of the K+ into Ksup(*+)(890), responsible in the Lund model for proportional45% of the Ksup(*+)(890) cross section, is strongly suppressed.
