AbstractAbstract
[en] Point contact spectroscopy (PCS) has been performed on the heavy fermion systems CeAl3, CeCu6, UPt3, U6Co and U2PtC2. The dynamical resistance dU/dI is a function of the electronic density of states (EDS) at E/sub F/. The width of the EDS inferred from the PC measurements can be compared with the γ-value of the specific heat

AbstractAbstract
[en] Dc magnetization measurements on the quasi-one-dimensional halogen-bridged platinum complex [Pt(en)2Pt(en)2I2] (ClO4)4 reveal a magnetic-field-induced strong diamagnetic transition at fields above 20 kOe. The diamagnetic signals are as large as 3.5-72% of complete diamagnetism and show large fluctuations. A sharp diamagnetic-paramagnetic transition occurred around 215 K. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The electronic structure of ferromagnetic and semiconducting Eu hydrides, intermediate valent and magnetic TmSe/sub 1-x/Te/sub x/ and Tm/sub 1-x/Eu/sub x/Se compounds is explained and measured by optical and magnetooptical means. It is then brought into connection with the magnetic exchange. A magnetic exchange induced valence transition is presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] We have measured the polarized reflectivity of YBa2Cu3.5O7.5 with E vector parallel to the a - and b axes. With a model of shunted conduction channels, we could evaluate the optical conductivity of the CuO2-plane and the CuO-chain, respectively. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Measurements of the 7F0→7F1 excitation of the 4f6 configuration by Raman scattering under high pressure are reported. There is no change in energy or width up to 32 kbar where the peak vanishes. Its softening in alloy systems was identified to be due to additional electrons introduced by the substitution. (orig.)
