AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of routine radiological, vascular and computer tomographic investigations in 11 patients with tumours and tumour-like lesions of the extremities are compared. Routine radiological investigations gave doubtful or negative results in 4 cases. In 3 cases the result of angiography was in disagreement with histological examination. Computer tomography made possible establishing of correct diagnosis in 10 cases, and in 2 of them additional information was obtained about the tumour. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Extruded lumbar discs are common reasons of lumbar pain and required appropriate surgical treatment. In 10-40% patients appear postoperative complications (e.g. recurrent lumbar disc on the same or different level, scar tissues involving nerve roots, arachnoiditis, discitis, postoperative pseudomeningocele, wrong level laminectomy) resulting recurrent lumbar pain and neurological symptoms. In our study 20 out of 216 patients have suffered recurrent back pain: 12 patients due to scar tissues, 6 patients due to recurrent discs, 2 patients due to postoperative discitis. Authors try to show the role of magnetic resonance imaging in evaluation of postoperative lumbar spine, result of surgical treatment, analyze the reasons of recurrent back pain. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Diagnosis of fetal distress and intrauterine hypoxia - the main cause of injury, death of the fetus and perinatal mortality is an important problem of present perinatal medicine. The MR spectroscopy examination enables assessment of brain metabolic processes in vivo and presence of changes previous to focal malacia. The aim of the study was assesment of usefulness of proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy in the detection of hypoxic-ischemic injury of fetal CNS. 40 pregnant women participated in the study and MRS examination of fetal brain was conducted. Inclusion criteria were conditions favoring the occurrence of fetal hypoxia. The MRS study was performed using PRESS sequence,TR=1500 ms, TE=35 ms, nex=192, voxels of dementions 2x2x2 cm.The final assessment included analysis of ratios of all metabolites to creatine level (NAA/Cr,Cho/Cr, mI/Cr, Lip/Cr, Lac/Cr). In the group of fetuses with abnormal MR spectroscopy result statistically significant decrease in NAA/Cr ratios (p<=0,05), statistically significant increase in Lac/Cr ratios (p,0,001) and Lip/Cr ratios (p,0,005) was observed. Changes depicted in 1H MRS spectra are reflection of metabolic changes in the ischemic region: disturbances of oxygen metabolism and destruction of neurocytes. Assessment of metabolic concentrations in MR spectroscopy examinations extends possibility of diagnosis of hypoxic-ischemic changes and enables evaluation of injury degree in the infarction region. AbstractAbstract
[en] It was the aim of this paper to evaluate clinical usefulness of Magnetic Resonance Angiography. Preliminary results obtained in 27 patients suspected of intracranial vascular stenosis or malformations have been presented. The comparison of MRA and classical angiography makes enable conclusion about high usefulness of the first one method for screening examinations. (author). 8 refs, 1 fig., 2 tabs
