AbstractAbstract
[en] The method for analysing soil- and air-samples on one nuclear site with γ ray spectrometer is described, and the specific activity of 137Cs in surficial soil and the radioactive density of Kr, Xe and I in air are determined. The prospects of using whole body-burden counter system and γ ray spectrometer on nuclear site are discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] The super-terrorism using large-scale antipersonnel weapons has become one real threat for the contemporary international society to face. The radioactive materials releasing from the nuclear and radiological terrorism events will cause the personnel dead and injured with mental state dismay, which break national official business, people life, society stability and economy development, and give mankind social result in endanger with large affect and have been concerned by the people all over the world. This paper analyzes the possible pattern and harmfulness of the nuclear and radiological terrorism events, at the same time puts forward the strategy to combat them according to their three categories and typical scenes. AbstractAbstract
[en] 'Dirty bomb', one of the three nuclear and radiological terrorism attack events, is a kind of weapon using conventional explosive to disperse radioactive materials, which leads to harmful and serious environmental contamination with α, β, γ rays and neutron having high radioactivity activity. This paper mainly introduces the characteristics and hazards, and puts forward some recommendations to counter RDD based on current international and national situations in nuclear and radiological terrorisms. AbstractAbstract
[en] Radioactive contamination source term characteristics for the terrorism attacks from 'dirty bomb' and its special demands of decontamination technology are analyzed in this paper. The development and direction of decontamination technology are also discussed. The suggestions are advanced, which decontaminate radioactive contamination caused by the terrorism attacks from 'dirty bomb'. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Portability of radioactive aerosol monitor is required in some conditions, so a system and a method of low rate of flow sampling and quick survey have been designed in the article. The method of cumulative-sampling and cumulative-measurement has been chosen. The method of corrected energy discrimination and α/β ratio have been used for reducing the effect of radon progeny and thoron progeny. So α/β activity concentration can be monitored quickly in condition of low rate of flow sampling. The detection limit of the system is analysed, it is proved that the method has met some requirements of emergency response and been useful for design of portable radioactive aerosol monitor. AbstractAbstract
[en] There is a problem of cross counting of alpha and beta when samples are measured sometime. In order to resolve the problem, the article researches into the range of alpha and beta particles in PIPS detectors. The difference in range results in difference in charge collecting time, so the pulse shape is also different. The characters of pulse shape of alpha and beta particles in PIPS detectors are studied. The rise time of voltage signal is surveyed and the change of rise time in different bias is analysed. Results of the research provided some useful reference to pulse shape discrimination of alpha and beta particles in PIPS detectors. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The minimization of the total variation regularization method for γ spectra smoothing is studied and solved by the convex optimization technique. Through the trade-off curve the method for the determination of the optimal trade-off factor, which compromising the cost function and the penalty function namely the total variation regularization, is introduced. The comparison between the traditional methods including moving averaging, Savitzky-Golay in addition to wavelet denoising and the method proposed shows that the latter is more effective as a whole in such peak zones as the lower peak disturbed by a higher peak nearby, doublet multiplets and the big statistical fluctuation peak. Besides, the parameter of the proposed method is easier to be determined. (authors)
