AbstractAbstract
[en] The mechanism of light elements incoherent scatter has been studied. By combining the incoherent scatter intensity with character line intensity to calculate the appearance concentration, the Lucas-Tooth and Pyne intensity correction model is corrected. By using this model and least-square method of regression of linear equations, the x-ray fluorescence analysis method is used for determining Sc2O3, Y2O3, La2O3, Tm2O3 and Lu2O3 in Li2CO3 which are standard samples in the laboratory. The precision of the method is better than 4.0%, and the best is up to 1.4%. Advantages of the method are accurate, easy to control, fast and various elements can be simultaneously determined

AbstractAbstract
[en] Acquiring the special information about measured object by gamma spectrum has important application in the field of arms control verification. The geometry information of the shield material out of source has been obtained by several group of intensity ratio of different energy gamma rays, which would reduce the affect for the evaluation of the inner assembly characteristic when the packaging is unknown. In this paper, the method of analyzing the thickness of several layers shield materials has been established, and the thickness of several layer shield materials out of plutonium source and 152Eu source has been analyzed based on the experiment, the result of the 152Eu source is better than the plutonium source obviously, the reason of the disagreement between the experiment result and the actual value has been analyzed. AbstractAbstract
[en] Statistical Reconstruction Methods have great advantage in image reconstruction, compared to analytical Methods. However, its huge computation time limit its application. It brought up a method of shortening the coefficient matrix computation time by pre-calculating the matrix and storing in hard disk. This method prompted the reconstruction speed and can use the exact projection coefficient matrix which will improve the reconstruction image quality. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Sphere symmetry of nuclear weapon, is one of the most significant attributes discussed in arms control verification and nuclear disarmament. The absolute detection efficiency distribution of HPGe γ detector in respect to spontaneously gamma radiation field of special shape assembly was simulated by Monte Carlo method. The results of simulation have shown that passive gamma spectroscopy mode could be used in recognizing the symmetric attribute of quasi-sphere. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Thickness of radioactive source is an important parameter in the field of gamma quantificational measurement in the strong radiation environment and arms control verification. The passive method of gamma ray measurement for the thickness of radioactive source was researched by the relationship between the intensity ratio of gamma rays from same nuclide with different energy and the thickness of the source. The thickness of radioactive source measured by experiment is in agreement with the actual value, which shows it is feasible that the thickness of radioactive source is measured by passive method. AbstractAbstract
[en] The interaction between primary X-ray with Al plating and U matrix materials, characteristic X-ray with Al plating thickness and the effect of U matrix's radioactivity on measurement of Al thickness has been discussed. A mathematical model of the relationship between intensity and plating thickness has been developed. UM or UL X-ray has been selected by the model to measure the thin or thick samples respectively. A measuring method of Al plating thickness (8.2 - 55.5 μm) on U matrix has been established. The precision is better than 3% for 8.2-18 μm samples and better than 5% for 18-55.5 μm samples

AbstractAbstract
[en] The paper holdup measurement is very important for decommissioning nuclear facilities and nuclear-material control and accounting. The absolute detection efficiencies (εsp) of full-energy γ rays peak under different source density distribution function have been simulated using the Monte Carlo (MC) software, and the counting rates (n0) of the characteristic γ rays have been measured using the γ spectrometer followed by the calculation of the holdup. The holdup is affected by the energy of γ rays, distance at which they are detected, pipe material, thickness, and source distribution of pipe, especially source distribution at a short distance. The comparative test of 235U reference materials on the inner wall of Fe and Al pipes (the total mass of 235U is 44.6 mg and 222.8 mg, respectively) have been accomplished using this method. The determined result of 235U is 43.2 mg (U0.95rel=5.4%) and 216.2 mg (U0.95rel=3.2%), respectively, which are in accordance with the reference values. (authors)
